The uses of learning materials and learning styles are among the domineering factors in shaping the students’ best achievements in examinations. This research was carried out with the purpose to find out the types of learning materials and learning styles used among the non - Malay students. 60 non-Malay form four students, taken from two schools in the Lipis District, Pahang were selected to be the samples. The information was gathered through questionnaires and interviews. A few methods have been selected to analyze the data. The methods used are frequency statistics, percentage, correlation, and one way ANOVA. The findings of this research shows that, there is a significant relation between the frequent uses of Bahasa Melayu reading materials, academic and non-academic magazines and also the frequent reading of additional reading materials related to Bahasa Melayu subject, towards the increasing of achievement for Bahasa Melayu subject in their previous form four examination.
