Artificial intelligence (AI) is a new emerging technology in education, enabling computers to have human-like cognition. However, research on the effectiveness of AI technology in teaching and learning (TaL) science subjects is still limited. This literature review aims to identify trends, impacts, and challenges of AI implementation in science learning. The review employs a systematic review method consisting of four steps: framing research questions, searching for relevant articles or journals, reading and analyzing abstracts, and extracting information from the articles or journals. A total of 30 articles were reviewed in this study. The results of the review indicate that AI provides a positive effect on learning.
