performance by enabling sport-specific movements to occur with additional loading.
Despite of its potential of allowing athletes to move more specific, studies examining
WR during kicking in Taekwondo is scarce. The purpose of this study is to determine
the effects of WR loading on the biomechanics of axe kick. Thirty (N=30) university
taekwondo athletes have been recruited as participants in this study. This study requires
the participants to undergo the middle axe kick testing with WR loading worn at lower
body (0%, 5%, 10%, and 15% of body mass) during the execution. High-speed motion
capture system was used to analyse kinematic data (kicking velocity, kicking time,
kicking height, hip angle and leg displacement). Force plate was used to measure
ground reaction force (GRF) while electromyography was used to determine muscle
activation (vastus lateralis, rectus abdominis, gastrocnemius medial, gl..... 1294 hits |
