1 | 2020 thesis | Phytochemicals and biological activities of Aquilaria subintegra Ding Hou Mastura Ibrahim This study aims to investigate the phytochemicals and biological activities from the
bark and leaf of Aquilaria subintegra Ding Hou. The samples were air-dried, ground, and gradientÂ
extracted by cold extraction using n-hexane, dichloromethane, and methanol successively. The barkÂ
and leaf crude extracts were purified via chromatographic techniques to produce pureÂ
compounds. The chemical structure of compounds were determined using spectroscopic methods such asÂ
nuclear magnetic resonance, ultraviolet, infrared, mass spectrometry and comparison from theÂ
literature review. The crude extracts and isolated compounds were tested for their anti-lipase,Â
antioxidant and anticancer activities through colorimetric test, DPPH free radical scavenging andÂ
cytotoxicity assay, respectively. This study has successfully afforded 22 compounds, includingÂ
three new compounds, namely aquilene A, aquilene B, and subintegranol. Other compounds wereÂ

2 | 2023 article | Secondary Metabolites from Aquilaria subintegra Leaves and their Radical Scavenging Activity Mastura Ibrahim This research studies the statement about the splitting of the Moon into two as narrated by Quran & Hadith in accordance to scientific studies related to the subject. The author suggests that current scientific findings of the formation of the equatorial ridge on Iapetus differs from the Islamic classical scholars opinions are not in tandem regarding the splitting and fusing of the moon. This research also applies the methodology of hadith from the writings given from various narrations and hadith literature. The application of document analysis methodology is applied to current concepts by the geologists and astrophysicists on the formation of the equatorial ridge of Iapetus and the ice ridge in Antarctica. The findings establishes that the Iapetus equatorial ridge is a genuine existence that occurred, which split into two and fused back. This image was captured by the satellite sent to Saturn.
