The vast contribution of Bahasa Melayu today has achieved the status of being multi purpose suitable for all situations and can adapt to changes according to occasions and requirements. We have to acknowledge the fact that Bahasa Melayu is the language of knowledge. Bahasa Melayu possesses the various forms which stresses the importance of scientific method. Morphology is one of the important studies in Bahasa Melayu. Hence, this study discusses the authenticity of the language corpus as the manifestation of the scientific method in describing the grammar of Bahasa Melayu. This study will analyze the data from the computerized corpus of Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka to observe and describe the actual usage of the negative ‘bukan’ and ‘tidak’ among today’s society.
