This work addresses a number of crucial themes in the history of linguistic enquiry — themes that are still relevant today. Aiming to encourage multiple language learning, and give potential stakeholders momentum to provide supportive multilingual environments for children, the paper first addresses the question of the origins of language or the naturalism-conventionalism debate, highlighting children‘s innate potentiality for multilingual acquisition. Second, the paper highlights the pragmalinguistic functions of language, shedding light on the language-thought debate, and illustrating the centrality of language to our life, relations and the exercise of power. The paper, next, deals with the nature-nurture debate or the fantastic and prodigious potentiality of children to develop multicompetence in multiple languages with enviable unselfconscious ease. Dual language programme: the perceptions and challenges of teachers and students in Klang, Selangor

Dual Language Programme (DLP) was introduced to improve the level of English proficiency among students. This has become a hot topic since the Ministry of Education (MOE) was requested to review the implementation of DLP as the teachers and students face challenges in teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in English. Thus, this study aims to identify the teachers’ and students’ insights on DLP and the challenges they faced after the implementation. The data were obtained through a questionnaire. A total of 146 DLP students consisting of Form 1 and Form 2 students and 8 teachers from four secondary schools in Klang, Selangor participated in this study. Besides, semi-structured interviews were carried out among the teachers as well. The finding shows that most of the teachers and students have positive views towards the implementation of DLP, although they faced some challenges. Every Muslims, regardless of his ability to recite the Quran or mastering the Arabic language, receive a great reward from Allah for reciting the Quran, contemplating its meaning and applying its teaching. But it is noticeable that some readers of Quran while depending on Quranic translation fail to comprehend its interpretation perfectly. Therefore, this research studies the concept of the technical image and its vocabulary in Quran and its artistic and semantic effect. In addition, it also aims to highlight its role in persuasion and influence of the readers. This research comes to detail the mysterious translation of some translation readers, by drawing of photographing a frame, situation, atmosphere, surrounding conditions, environment, or state of an accident, as if we could imagine it in front of us. The current status of elementary Music education in Yangon, Myanmar

Public schools in Myanmar have offered music education as part of the regular curriculum since 2000; however, very little information is available about the current teaching practices of music education as well as differences and problems regarding music education in different types of schools. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to investigate the current status of elementary music education in Yangon, Myanmar in three different types of schools: Public schools, private schools, and international schools. A mixed-method design was employed to achieve the purposes of the study. Qualitative data were collected using in-depth interviews with seven key informants. Quantitative data were collected from 93 respondents—33 music teachers and 60 classroom teachers responsible for teaching music—using a web-based questionnaire and telephone interviews. This study is conducted to construct and examine the usage of al-Amin’s Strategy (SPA) of Akhlak Lessons in bringing up the akhlak-consciousness of form three students in Narathiwat and Pattani provinces. Al-Amin’s Strategy (SPA) are designed based on the Quranic verses 21-34 chapter of Taha, which describes the stories on the values of honesty shown by Prophet Moses a.s (al-Amin) highlighting on the strategy model of learning and teaching aid, the concept of knowing Allah, mastering knowledge, self improvement and soul cleansing. Ideas from al-Amin’s Strategy (SPA) are referred from personality model and cognitive (Mohd. Daud Hamzah & Abd. Kadir Arifin, 2000) and concepts from al-Ghazali (1993) assimilated into the model for Instruction System of Dick & Carrey (2009).
