Their significance lies in their ability to give respondents autonomy in evaluating presented items. An essential part of crafting an effective survey involves carefully selecting scaling methods during the instrument construction phase. This study conducts a narrative literature review to analyse existing findings on the use of Likert scales, mapping out how these scales are applied to understand the interplay between scale divisions in social sciences research. Likert scales are popular in diverse fields, including social sciences, psychology, politics, and economics. | 2 | 2024 Thesis | Hubungan kepuasan kerja terhadap pencapaian prestasi pensyarah Kolej Vokasional Malaysia Nor Roselidyawaty Mohd Rokeman Kajian lepas menunjukkan terdapat masalah burnout dalam kalangan pensyarah Program Pelancongan. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk menentukan hubungan antara kepuasan kerja dan pencapaian prestasi pensyarah Program Pelancongan Kolej Vokasional di Malaysia. Kajian ini menggunakan rekabentuk korelasi. Teori Hirarki Maslow dan Teori Dua Faktor Herzberg digunakan dalam kajian ini untuk menentukan pembolehubah kajian. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah satu set soal selidik yang mengandungi 64 item berskala Likert. Populasi kajian ini terdiri daripada 70 orang pensyarah Program Pelancongan kolej vokasional di Malaysia. Berdasarkan jadual saiz sampel Krecjie dan Morgan, seramai 59 orang responden telah dipilih secara rawak. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan min dan sisihan piawai pemboleh ubah kepuasan kerja adalah seperti berikut: rakan sekerja (M=4.01, SP=0.62), gaji dan faedah (M=3.42, SP=0.72), persekitaran kerja (M=3.20, SP=0.81), dan beban kerja (M=3.14, SP=0.64).
