This text analysis study focused on the novel Kapten Hassan Wira Bangsa (KHWB) to survey and identify the value content in Kurikulum Bersepadu Sekolah Menengah (KBSM). This novel is published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) in 2000 and penned by Harun Johari, a local author. It was chosen by a committee appointed by Pusat Perkembangan Kurikulum (PPK) after serious procedural selection as a text for literature component as it is filled with KBSM values. This novel is a compulsory for teachers and Form 2 students in schools in the northern zone as a part of Bahasa Melayu teaching and learning support. The main purpose of this study is to prove whether KHWB really suits the values in KBSM or otherwise. In reaching that purpose 5 research questions based on study objective are formed.
