| 1 | 2019 Article | The Effects of Elbow Flexion Angles on Handgrip Force Production among Trained Women Nurul Uyun Abd Aziz The objective of this study was to determine the effects of elbow flexion angles on handgrip force production. 200 women involved voluntarily as participants in this study. Participants were required to perform handgrip dynamometer strength test in three elbow flexion angle conditions; i) 0˚ (full extension), ii) 90˚ and iii) full degrees. Participants were given three trials for each side (dominant and non-dominant) in all three elbow flexion angles. Results showed that in all elbow flexion angles, dominant handgrip force were higher compared to the non-dominant side. Besides that, performing handgrip with 0˚ elbow flexion produced greatest force followed by 90˚ and full elbow flexion. To conclude, testers need to standardize the handgrip strength test procedures as different in elbow flexion angles and the use of dominant/non-dominant sides were shown to significantly affect the force production... 993 hits |
| 2 | 2018 Research Report | Hand-grip as a predictor of muscular strength among untrained female: the influence of elbow angle Nurul Uyun Abd Aziz This study was conducted aiming to determine the relationship between handgrip strength with
various elbow angle and the other strength tests score. 200 university female were recruited as study
participants and performed the 1RM test for bench press and squat, and five level sit up. Pearson
Correlation was conducted to determine the relationship between handgrip strength and these tests.
Results showed that only bench press was significantly correlated with all the handgrip strength test
in different elbow angle. Squat on the other hand was found to be significantly correlated with
handgrip strength at 180º flexion at right hand and full flexion at left hand. However, the correlation
value was found to be low. As shown in the results, although several variables were shown to be
significantly correlated, the levels of correlation are very week. Thus, handgrip strength test is not a
suitable strength assessment instrument among the trained female... 893 hits |
