Analysis of questions in the SPM examination and in workbooks based on "The Pearl"

This study investigated the relevance of the usage of workbooks and their significance in preparing students for the SPM examination in teaching the novel part of the literature component in the Form Five English language syllabus. The teaching of a novel is a compulsory part of the English language paper in the SPM examination. Teachers and students throughout the country have turned to the usage of supplementary workbooks. Publishers have come out with numerous workbooks to help teachers and students prepare for the literature component in their exam. It is the purpose of this study to find out if these books comply with the English language curriculum specifications lined out by the Education Ministry of Malaysia . A total number of 20 books were analysed using Bloom’s taxonomy of question levels. . The study revealed that most of these books did comply with the curriculum specifications..

Factors that influence learning opportunities of participants in regular courses

Purpose – The objective of this research is to assess the correlation between the independent variables i.e., conduct of course, relationship between facilitators, content and materials with course supervisors, facilities and support service, personal beliefs, learning opportunity of the participants and their learning opportunity. Methodology – This study employs a longitudinal research comprising 582 from a total of 645 participants from fiscal year 2010/2011 to fiscal year 2019/2020. The sampling method used in this research is quota sampling. Findings - The findings of this research concluded that there is a significant relationship between the variables and the learning opportunities of the participants. Additionally, there are 3 factors that influence the learning opportunity for participants which are the conduct of course, content and materials, and personal beliefs while the other three factors were not affected. Kalithokai text for Comparative Purposes

Kalithokai is one of the most important books in the Sangam literature. Many have written the text, starting with Nachchinarkiniyar for Learning. This article is intended to compare such texts. The history in which the kalithokai is published and the history in which the tuition is compiled are systematically compiled. This research paper has been compared by comparing the texts of Nachchinarkiniyar, U.V. Saminathiyar, A. Viswanathan etc. who wrote the text for the study. There are 150 songs in the anthology. Of these, only the lyrics of the song "Praise be to God", song number 51 and song number 133 have been examined.  ..

Improve the skills of 1st grade students in presenting ideas sequentially through approaches Peer Teaching

Abstract: This study was conducted to identify the problem of presenting ideas sequentially faced by Form 1 students as well as improving the skills of presenting ideas sequentially through the Peer Teaching approach. This research was conducted using a mixed approach, with quantitative and qualitative data collected from 15 Form 1 students and 3 teachers from Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Sepang, Selangor. Instruments used to collect data include pre-tests, post-activity tests, interviews, and observations. After the initial test, the researcher implemented 4 activities namely Word Treasure Hunt, Snake & Ladder, Picture Connection, Mystery Words and Bingo to improve the oral skills of the students. The results of this study found that the Peer Teaching approach can be used to improve speaking skills. Through this, the skill of presenting ideas sequentially among students is improved. Access the understanding of form one students in mozhiyani through ‘question and answer’ card game created based on the ADDIE model

Abstract: Proverbs and idioms in the Tamil language have always been a struggle for Form One students as they encounter them as a new lesson after completing primary school. Therefore, this study is conducted to determine the students’ understanding of proverbs and idioms in Tamil, known as Mozhiyani, through a card game. This study aimed to investigate the problems faced by students in learning Mozhiyani and their interest in understanding it by playing the card game. The study also investigated whether students improved in learning Mozhiyani after using the card game. To encourage students to use suitable Mozhiyani, 20 pieces of cards consisting of four types of Mozhiyani were introduced as a new method of learning. Twenty students participated in this study from a secondary school. In the pre-test, they answered a question paper about Mozhiyani. The majority of the students answered the questions incorrectly, showing that they had not learned it deeply. Then, they played four diff.....
