1 | 2023 Article | Virtual reality technology for elementary school students: A study of effectiveness in learning Shakila binti Che Dahalan The problem and the aim of the study. The effectiveness of learning in elementary schools is still a major problem for teachers and students in learning activities. This is evidenced by the low interest in student learning which has an impact on students' lack of understanding of learning material. Teachers still find it difficult to find learning variations that can generate interest and experience student activities in learning. The authors propose virtual reality (VR) technology as a solution to increase student interest and learning experience in the hope that it can have a positive effect on student learning effectiveness. Research methods. This research was conducted using a quantitative approach with a One Group Pretest-Post-test design. The sample used in this study was elementary school students at the fifth-grade level. The sample selection was carried out using simple random sampling from a number of fifth grade students who were the research subjects. The specificity of the..... 386 hits |
2 | 2023 Article | VideoScribes sparkol-based learning to improve learning outcomes: a classroom action research Shakila Che Dahalan This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by applying VideoScribes Sparkol media. This study uses a type of classroom action research. This classroom action research went through two cycles in which the researcher acted as an observer. Each cycle consists of planning, implementing, observing and reflecting. The research subjects were Grade IV students. Data collection techniques are carried out by observation and learning achievement tests. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis. The findings obtained in Cycle I indicate that the actions taken have not been successful. This is evidenced by the absorption of students who have not reached the expected completeness criteria. After reflection and implementation of Cycle II, the action shows an increase. This can be seen after the learning outcomes test shows that students absorption has reached the expected minimum mastery. Based on these findings it can be concluded that VideoScribes Sparkol media can improve student lea..... 325 hits |
3 | 2023 Article | Analyzing the impact of augmented reality on student motivation: a time series study in elementary education Shakila Che Dahalan Sub-optimal learning outcomes have been observed, often attributed to monotonous educational processes that struggle to retain students' focus and stimulate active participation. This study investigates the potential influence of Augmented Reality (AR) on student motivation, utilizing a time series analysis approach. The primary objectives include assessing the impact of AR on student learning outcomes and identifying the most suitable model for elucidating this relationship. The central research question is: can the implementation of AR enhance student motivation in elementary education? A time series design with a quantitative methodology was employed, involving a cohort of 29 fourth-grade students in Indonesia. Data collection was conducted through a Likert scale questionnaire. Four trend models were tested: the Linear Trend Model, Quadratic Trend Model, Growth Curve Model, and S-Curve Trend Model. The analysis of the collected data, tabulated and analyzed based on the established t..... 438 hits |
4 | 2024 Article | Development of an e-module based on local wisdom ethnoastronomy in the digital era to strengthen the pedagogical competence of social studies teachers Shakila Che Dahalan This research aims purposes to design and develop a digital-based e-module with ethnoastronomy content for junior high school students. We used a Design-Based Research (DBS) approach with four steps: needs analysis, design planning, development, and reflection on results of use. We used questionnaires, field notes, literature studies, and documentation for social studies teachers. The results showed that the preparation of e-modules refers to the applicable curriculum and pays attention to the analysis of learning needs. E-module design is very good as interactive teaching material, concrete, implementable, characteristic practical, and economical, making it easier for students to understand. The enthusiasm of social studies teachers in improving pedagogical technology competence following the demands of independent, adaptive, and contextual professional teacher competence supports the successful use of e-modules. The research implications increase the variety of interactive teaching m..... 56 hits |
