Amalan pengurusan kualiti maklumat (PKM) yang rendah memberi kesan kepada kualiti maklumat yang dihasilkan oleh Sistem Maklumat Kesihatan (SMK) yang seterusnya menjejaskan tahap kualiti penjagaan pesakit. Kajian lepas mendapati pengguna SMK tidak dapat menyelaraskan penggunaan maklumat SMK dengan proses klinikal. Oleh itu, penilaian menyeluruh perlu dilakukan untuk mengkaji permasalahan ini. Namun, kriteria penilaian dalam rangka kerja PKM yang sedia ada masih kurang komprehensif terutamanya untuk SMK. Oleh itu, kajian ini mencadangkan satu rangka kerja penilaian PKM yang lebih sistematik dan holistik. Rangka kerja cadangan ini dibangun berdasarkan kombinasi rangka kerja PKM dan rangka kerja penerimaan sistem maklumat iaitu rangka kerja Prestasi Pengurusan Sistem Maklumat Rutin (Performance of Routine Information Systems Management (PRISM)) dan rangka kerja Manusia, Organisasi dan Teknologi serta penjajarannya (Human, Organization and Technology-fit (HOT-fit)).
