1 | 2020 Article | Characterisation of porphyrinic nanowires on three different solid substrates Suzaliza Mustafar Integration of azo group into a polymer structure is one of the favourable options to enhance the conductivity and stability of a polymer. In this study, the azobenzene-linked nanowires were fabricated on three different solid electrodes by engaging electrooxidation to induce oxidative coupling. The formation of azobenzene-link in polymer structures was investigated and discussed. The X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy results revealed that the azobenzene-links were present in the polymeric structures. Besides that, the cyclic voltammograms proved the presence of azobenzene-linked and the nanowires shown to be stable upon repetitive scans. This study discovered that the nanowires formed a covalent bond on the surface of solid electrodes. Despite the differences in term of chemical composition between the electrodes, successful polymerisation had shown the potential of these electrodes to widely engage in areas such as energy storage and photonic devices. The photofunctionality and plausi..... 677 hits |
2 | 2018 Research Report | Synthesis and characterisation of photoluminescence pyrazine-based nanowires using facile metal coordination method Suzaliza Mustafar Numerous commercially available ligand with simple structures as donor and acceptor moieties can be engaged in
fabrication of one-dimensional (1D) materials. Metal coordination approach is an effective and facile method for
generating 1D luminescent nanowires with length ranging from several nanometres up to hundreds of nanometres
compared to the other methods available. In this research 1D photoluminescence pyrazine-based coordination
complexes were fabricated by integrating an electron-donor (D) tetra-2-pyridinylpyrazine (tppz) unit and
electron-acceptor (A) 2-phenylpyrimidine (ppm) moiety or 2,6-bis(2-benzimidazolyl)pyridine (bzimpy) to form a
D–A–D configuration. The tppz itself hardly fluoresces, but upon complexation with metal ions the fluorescence
of tppz-metal was observed. This may be resulting from the change of lowest excited-state due to complexation
with metal that acts as a strong Lewis acid. Tppz has been utilised as a bridging ligand in building block of

3 | 2023 Article | Synthesis and characterization of photoanode by immobilisation of pyridyl complexes on ito for photo-conversion system Suzaliza Mustafar Increasing developments on the application of copper complexes as dyes are due to their dual function in dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) as redox mediators and dye sensitizers. The economical (abundance, low cost) and environmentally friendly properties of copper motivate researchers on the use of copper complexes for replacement of ruthenium-based dyes in solar cells. A novel [Cu(I)(2,9-dmp)(phen-dione)]PF6 (A2) bearing polypyridyl ligands, 1,10-phenanthroline-5,6-dione (phen-dione), 2,9-dimethyl-1,10-phenanthroline (dmp) was prepared by metal complexation reaction. The photofunctionality of A2 as a promising photosensitizer in DSSCs was studied. Interestingly, A2 exhibited two absorption peaks, one is detected in the ultraviolet region due to p-p* transition and the other is a metal-to-ligand charge transfer (MLCT) band at 405nm in the visible region. A2 was compared to the same complex with Cu(II) ion as the metal centre which only absorbed light in the ultraviolet region thereby..... 152 hits |
