The main objective of this study is to introduce an alternative method to estimate the relative risk for acute and chronic hepatitis B based on the age group. This study considers the transmission of the disease in the S-(I(C) I(A))-R stochastic model and used it as the equation for relative risk. In this study, the SIIR model related with hepatitis B have been revised and expanded to formed an the alternative S-(I(C) I(A))-R model according to the age structure. Model S-(I(C) I(A))-R are based on the age structure proposed used to estimate the relative risk for acute and chronic hepatitis B in Malaysia. Results are compared with the general method used to estimate the relative risk by using SMR and Poisson-gamma model.
