| 1 | 2015 Thesis | Preparation and controlled release of agrochemical herbicide zinc layered hydroxide-3-(4- methoxyphenyl)propionate and layered double hydroxide-3-(4-methoxyphenyl)propionate nanocomposites Zuhailimuna Muda This research aimed to prepare and study the controlled release of agrochemical herbicide based on new nanocomposites, namely zinc layered hydroxide-3-(4- methoxyphenyl)propionate (ZLH-MPP) and layered double hydroxide-3-(4- methoxyphenyl)propionate (LDH-MPP). This research is divided into three parts which are synthesis of nanocomposites, characterization and controlled release. ZLHMPP nanocomposite was synthesized using direct reaction of an aqueous suspension of zinc oxide with MPP solution. Whereas, LDH-MPP nanocomposite was synthesized using an ion exchange method between nitrate ion and MPP anion. The physiochemical properties of ZLH-MPP and LDH-MPP nanocomposites were characterized using powder x-ray diffraction (PXRD), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen and sulphur analysis (CHNO-S), inductive coupled plasma optical emission spectrometry (ICP-OES), thermogravimetric analysis and derivative thermogravimetry (TGA/DTG), and field emi..... 1068 hits |

agrochemical nanocomposites namely zinc layered hydroxide-sodium dodecyl
sulphate-isoprocarb (ZLH-SDS-ISO), zinc layered hydroxide-sodium dodecyl
sulphate-propoxur (ZLH-SDS-PRO) and zinc layered hydroxide-sodium dodecyl
sulphate-thiacloprid (ZLH-SDS-THI) using ion exchange method for pest control. Surface
modification of nanocomposites was performed using chitosan and cellulose acetate. The
nanocomposites were characterized using powder x-ray diffraction (PXRD), Fourier transform
infrared (FTIR), elemental analysis, thermogravimetric and differential thermogravimetric
