Allowances, appreciation and promotion influencing employee performance

Abstract

Motivation is considered one of the crucial aspects for the management to ensure the employee’s positive contribution to the organization objective. Previous studies have shown that employee performance will be less efficient if they will not be motivated. Such a situation will be more serious in the cases of the governmental sector especially in those sectors providing essential community services such as educational services. Therefore, this study was conducted to assess the role of allowance, promotion and appreciation on the employee performance in Khalifa University. The case study approach adopted through the implementation of the quantitative methodology, using designed questionnaires as a data collection method. The study found that allowances, appreciation and promotion have a positive relationship with employee performance. The influence of NCEMA 7000 standard on business continuity management implementation: the mediation effect of disaster recovery plan in the Abu Dhabi municipal department and transport

Abstract

This study investigates the mediating effect of Disaster Recovery Plan (DRP) on the relationship between technology, organization, environment, critical employees/personnel and the Business Continuity Management (BCM) of organizations in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Quantitative cross-sectional survey design was used to collect data from organizations in UAE by means of questionnaire, which was distributed among UAE organizations. A sample of 326 respondents was considered using the stratified systematic sampling method. Preliminary data screening and descriptive statistics were analysed by means of the SPSS version 24 software, whereas the inferential statistics were computed by means of PLS 3 software for hypotheses testing and conclusions. Abstract

This study aimed to identify the relationship between psychological well-being, including (positive emotions, engagement, positive relationships, meaning, and achievement) and the use of digital technology by inclusive teachers during online learning in the UAE. Additionally, the study examined the moderating role of educational leadership support in this relationship. With a quantitative correlational design, an online survey was conducted through the Google Forms platform in 2022 with 342 inclusive high school teachers from Abu Dhabi's schools using a cluster random method. The questionnaire provided full information on their online learning experiences and personal characteristics in terms of demographic information, 28 items of psychological well-being factors, 7 items of educational leadership support, and 4 items of using digital technology and platforms.
