Kesan bimbingan kelompok REBT terhadap resilien dan daya tindak murid aktif sukan bermasalah disiplin

Abstract

Kajian eksperimental ini dijalankan bagi mengukur kesan Kaunseling Kelompok REBT terhadap resilien dan daya tindak murid aktif sukan yang terlibat dengan salah laku disiplin. Seramai 60 subjek (n=60) kajian dipilih secara pensampelan rawak bertujuan (purposive sampling) dan diagihkan secara rawak berpadanan kepada dua kumpulan iaitu kumpulan rawatan (30 orang) dan kumpulan kawalan (30 orang). Data kuantitatif ujian pra dan pos dikumpul menggunakan soal selidik Skala Daya Ketahanan (SDK) dan Inventori Strategi Daya Tindak (SDT) yang mempunyai nilai kesahan 0.741 (SDK) dan 0.769 (SDT) serta nilai kebolehpercayaan 0.65 (SDK) dan 0.86 (SDT). Seterusnya, data dianalisis secara deskriptif & inferensi melalui ujian statistik min, Ujian-t, Mancova dan Pos Hoc pada aras signifikan 0.05. Chemical constituents from the leaves and stems of piper ornatum N.E.Br (Piperaceae) and their antioxidant activity

Abstract

Plants of the genus Piper have long been used as medicinal herbs. The chemistry of Piper species has been widely investigated, and phytochemicals investigations led to the isolation of a number of physiologically active compounds. This study was carried out to investigate the phyto - chemicals isolated from the leaf and stem extracts of Piper ornatum. Cold extraction of the dried powdered leaf and stem was employed to extract the phytochemicals according to the polarity gradient of hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The phytochemicals were obtained using chromatography techniques (column chromatography and prep-TLC) and their structures were confirmed by spectroscopic analysis (IR, NMR and MS) and comparison with literature. The isolation was successfully led to the identification of 5,7-dimethoxyflavone (1), 4',7-dihydroxy-3',5',5-trimethoxyflavone (2), 4'-hydroxy-3',5',5,7-tetramethoxyflavone (5) and 3',4',5,5',7-pentamethoxyflavone (6), together with piperine (3) and ?-sitosterol .....

Phytochemicals, essential oils and antioxidant activity from Piper ornatum N.E.Br and Piper penangense C.DC. (PIPERACEAE)

Abstract

The purpose of the study was to investigate phytochemicals, essential oils, and antioxidant activity from Piper ornatum N.E.Br and Piper penangense C.DC (Piperaceae). The essential oils were obtained by hydrodistillation technique and their compositions were evaluated by gas chromatography (GC-FID) and gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS). Isolation of phytochemicals was carried out through cold extraction of the leaves followed by separation using chromatographic techniques. The isolated compounds were confirmed by spectroscopic data and comparison with literature. The antioxidant activity of the essential oils, crude extracts, and phytochemicals were evaluated using the total phenolic content (TPC) and DPPH free radical scavenging assays. The study showed that the essential oil of P. ornatum consists of caryophyllene oxide (31.5%), sphatulenol (5.9%), aromadendrene (4.9%), and _-caryophyllene epoxide (4.5%). Financial openness for small open economy

Abstract

The openness declared in Malaysia aims to strengthen the economic interlinkages with other economies and enhancing the role of the liberalization itself as a key enabler and mechanism of economic growth.The main concern of this study is to examine the correlation between financial openness towards economy and the total output growth. Primary attention has been given, for not just focusing on country level but also going in depth into manufacturing industry level to look at this relationship based on Malaysia experience. By using de facto financial openness, the result shows that financial openness is significant for both in country and industry level and support that the volume of country_s assets and liabilities did impact on economy and output growth.
