Abstract
Teaching of thinking skills has increasingly gained attention from educators in general in the last few decades. It is now seen as a vital component which needs to be incorporated into the teaching of school subjects with the aim of producing citizens who are able to conduct complex thinking process on their own to solve problems and make good decisions. This attempt to teach thinking skills at the school level obviously brings implications on educational planning and implementation at all level to accommodate this change. Preparing teachers to teach thinking skills is an important aspect to be dealt with. This case study which investigated ESL teachers’ perceptions and practices on the teaching of thinking utilized a survey research design. The findings of the study indicated that English Language teachers valued the teaching of thinking skills and had a high sense of efficacy in teaching thinking skills to their students. The study has shown that teachers’ practice of teaching th.....

Abstract
This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Circle Geometry Board (CG-Board) strategy in learning Circle Geometry towards Form Four students’ performance. This study also examined students’ Van Hiele’s level of Geometric Thought. The pre-test and post-test non-equivalent control group quasi-experimental designed was used. The selection of subjects was conducted by cluster probability sampling involving 52 Form Four students at a school in Hilir Perak district. The subjects were divided equally into control and treatment group. A three-week intervention was carried out. The instruments used are prior knowledge test, a set of pre-test and post-test on Circle Geometry and observation checklist. Descriptive analysis was used to describe students’ performance in the topic while independent t-test was used to determine the differences between the teaching strategies. The result showed that there was an increase in students’ performance in both control and treatment groups. Ba.....

Abstract
Malpractice is a dereliction of professional duty or a failure to exercise an ordinary degree of professional skill or learning by rendering professional services which results in injury, loss or damage. This study probed into the questions: (2)what are the types of educational malpractices in the Philippine education system; and (2) who are mostly guilty of these offenses? Data were gathered by downloading court cases and newspaper articles. A total of ten online court cases involving teachers, parents, students, school administrators, and principals were included. Coding was done by identifying the emerging themes per cluster. Findings indicated that offenses can be clustered into two: corruption and misconduct. Corruption cluster includes offenses ranging from illegal collection by the teachers from the students to the misuse of funds by the school administrators. On the other hand, the misconduct cluster includes sexual abuse targeted towards students by the teachers, and abuse of .....

Abstract
The aim of this study is to examine information perceived as salient by new university academic staff attending a compulsory induction program at a Malaysian public university. Attending and successfully completing the induction program is a policy that is set and managed by universities across Malaysia. This study uses a qualitative approach, where reflections by the four authors of this study attending a ten-day induction program were collected and examined. By the end of the program, a total of 40 reflective pieces were written on an online shared document, which were then analyzed thematically. The reflections were examined through iterative reading and coding of their contents, which were then consolidated into salient themes. These themes were noteworthy information, affirmation and aspiration, and critical response. The findings indicated that the process of induction acted more than just a space for the dissemination of information, but there were instances where participants f.....

Abstract
A priori error estimation provides information about the asymptotic behavior of the approximate solution and information on convergence rates of the problem. Contrarily, a posteriori error estimation derives the estimation of the exact error by employing the approximate solution and provides a practical accurate error estimation. Additionally, a posteriori error estimates can be used to steer adaptive schemes, that is to decide the refinement processes, namely local mesh refinement or local order refinement schemes. Adaptive schemes of finite element methods for numerical solutions of partial differential equations are considered standard tools in science and engineering to achieve better accuracy with minimum degrees of freedom. In this thesis, we focus on a posteriori error estimations of mixed finite element methods for nonlinear time dependent partial differential equations. Mixed finite element methods are methods which are based on mixed formulations of the problem. In a mixed fo.....

Abstract

Abstract
This paper explores the materials and media in environmental issues through the production of artworks. Due to our destructive behaviors to environment, we are facing many environmental issues, such as climate change, ocean pollution, Industrial waste pollution and many other problems. Environmental issues are not only causing a great concern of scientists, but also attracting the interest of visual artists. Artists all around the world are taking the opportunity to express their views through visual interpretation. These issues have been a prominent concern expressed in the theme of artworks. Through the exploration of media and materials, they construct a visual form representing environmental issues. Furthermore, by using descriptive analysis, all relevant artworks are examined to reveal the meaning behind their practices. Artists such as Néle Azevedo,Tomas Saraceno , Chris Jordan Marina DeBris, Jason DeCaires Taylor, Benjamin Von Wong , Shang Yang and Yao Lu will be discussed la.....

Abstract
Cognitive skills enable individuals to make precise decisions and solve real-life challenges, which are essential for theadvancement of both the state and society at large. Questions serve as a tool for gathering information, inspiring thought, and redirecting reasoning. In university education, teachers frequently use questions to encourage students to think critically and reason effectively. Term final examination question papers are employed by academics to assess the retention and practical skills of graduates. However, it is hypothesized that, at the university level, questions assessing application skills should increasingly take precedence over questions that assess retention skills, as students’ progress to more advanced stages of education. These questions can be categorized into higher-order or lower-order types. The cognitive domain is one of the three learning domains outlined in Bloom’s Taxonomy, proposed by Benjamin Bloom in 1956. The objective of this study is to ana.....
