Early Identification of Children with Specific Learning Difficulties (SLD): Practical Assessment for Needs in the Early Childhood Education Programme

Abstract

The Individuals with Disabilities Education Act of 2004 (IDEA) requires children with Specific Learning Difficulty (SLD) to be given the appropriate support in assessment, planning for differentiated teaching as well as to promote interventions for remediated individual needs. Children in the Early Childhood Care and Education Programme are likely to exhibit early signs of SLD, whereby visible struggles in the areas of sensory integration, cognitive, behaviour and academic skills hinders their overall capacity to learn and develop on the norm. This situation calls for teachers' attention for appropriate assessment and to address the needs of every child struggling with SLD accordingly. Pengaruh identiti moral dan identiti prososial terhadap modifikasi tingkah laku prososial remaja delinkuen

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti pengaruh identiti moral dan identiti prososial terhadap modifikasi tingkah laku prososial remaja delinkuen. Reka bentuk kajian adalah kajian kuantitatif bukan eksperimental yang melibatkan 108 orang responden yang merupakan pelajar sekolah menengah yang berusia dalam lingkungan 13 hingga 16 tahun yang mempunyai rekod masalah disiplin. Responden kajian dipilih secara rawak dari beberapa buah sekolah terpilih di negeri Perak. Dapatan kajian mendapati bahawa bahawa kedua-dua pemboleh ubah bebas iaitu identiti moral dan juga identiti prososial telah berkorelasi secara positif lemah dan signifikan dengan tingkah laku prososial remaja delinkuen. Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji kesan latihan pliometrik terhadap kuasa kaki atlet bakat sekolah di bawah 13 tahun di Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pakan. Sarikei. Seramai 60 orang pelajar telah dikenalpasti sebagai subjek dalam dua kumpulan kajian eksperimen ini. Ujian pra dan dan ujian pasca dengan kumpulan kawalan digunakan. Seramai 30 orang subjek (19 perempuan 11 lelaki) dipilih sebagai kumpulan experimen yang menjalani latihan pliometrik sebagai rawatan manakala 30 subjek lagi sebagai kumpulan kawalan. Assessing the effect of the gradual release of responsibility (GRR) model in teaching science

Abstract

This research study is conducted to elucidate the effectiveness of the Gradual Release of Responsibility (GRR) Model in increasing students' academic performance in science class. The GRR model reflects this by scaffolding students' learning experiences, starting with teacher modeling and gradually transitioning to student-centered activities and peer collaboration. A quantitative quasi-experimental research approach was used to test the effectiveness of the said learning model. A control and experimental group with 30 students were involved in this study utilizing the Inquiry-Based Seven (7) E's Method and GRR Model, respectively. Results show that there is no significant difference between the two groups in the pretest, given the values t(58)=0.345 and p-value=0.731, which signifies that both groups were at low-performing levels. Kajian ini dijalankan untuk meneliti kolokasi kata berdasarkan elemen budaya dalam buku teks bahasa Iban. Antara aspek yang diteliti dalam kajian ini adalah termasuk (1) mengenal pasti kekerapan kata berdasarkan elemen budaya dalam Korpus Buku Teks bahasa Iban sekolah menengah; (2) menganalisis klasifikasi kata berdasarkan elemen budaya Korpus Buku Teks bahasa Iban sekolah menengah; dan (3) menghuraikan hubungan antara kata berdasarkan elemen budaya dan pemaknaan berdasarkan Korpus Buku Teks Bahasa Iban Sekolah Menengah. Kajian ini menggunakan buku teks bahasa Iban sekolah menengah yang bermula dari tingkatan satu hingga tingkatan lima. Manakala reka bentuk bagi kajian ini pula ialah kuantitatif yang berpandukan korpus. Perisian korpus yang digunakan dalam kajian ini pula ialah LancsBox 6.0. Mosque institutions in Malaysia: what is the concept of the lyrics?

Abstract

This article comprises discussions related to the concept of the Mosque in Malaysia, as far as conforming to the idea of rahlatan lilalamin, which is the primary basis of the Prophet Muhammad SAW. Contrary to the concept of rahmatan lilalamin then came Rahmah Mosque, which is concerned with the unification and peace of the universal ummah. This also repels a narrow understanding of the function of the mosque. In this paper, the author discusses the challenge of establishing a mosque institution that conforms to the concept of rahmatan lilalamin to expose readers to fend off all the extreme views of mosque functions. At the end of the writing, it is reiterated that the role of the mosque should be in line with the concept of lilalalmin's grace. The concepts of Saiva Siddhantam in Cuntarar Tevaram

Abstract

This study aims to identify and analyse the concepts of Pati (God), pacu (souls), pācam (bondage) based on the theory of Saiva Siddhāntam and to clarify the concepts of cataṉai (means) and payaṉ (benefits) in the 1026 hymns of Cuntarar Tēvāram. This study is a library research that uses the methods of content analysis and descriptive analysis. The analysis and discussion are based on the theory of Saiva Siddhāntam. The results of this study identified 1015 hymns on Pati, 113 on pacu and 57 on pācam that reflect the theory. Analysis of the hymns confirms Pati as the embodiment of Love taking various manifestations to bestow Grace upon the deserving souls; pacu on its journey to liberation undergoing the cycle of births and aspiring to be released from the fetters of pācam by surrendering to the Lord; and pācam that binds the souls in the forms of āṇavam, kaṉmam and māyā, leaves the pacu when Pati captivates it. Teori 'Pasu' dalam Thirumanthiram

Abstract

This study aims to analyse the nature of _pasu_ (soul) in the theory of _pasu_ (soul) contained in the lyrics of Thirumanthiram songs. This study explains the nature of the _pasu_ which carries the meaning _nature of the soul_ radiated in the lyrics of Thirumanthiram songs. This study was carried out in the form of qualitative methods and the data for this study had been obtained by analysing the lyrics of Thirumanthiram songs. Thirumanthiram's book, which has 3000 songs, is vastly related with a Hindu concept and religious belief. This study only focuses on 130 song lyrics based on the theory of _Pasu_, which explicitly explains the 10 nature of the soul. Descriptive methods are used to explain the philosophy of life contained in Thirumanthiram songs based on the nature of _Pasu_. The results of the study show that as many as nine of the ten _pasu_ nature contained in the lyrics of Thirumanthiram songs.
