The mastery level of basic science process skills between the Malay and the orang asli upper primary students in Malaysia

Abstract
This study seeks to gauge the mastery levels of the overall basic science process skills (BSPS) and the specific BSPS amongst the Malay and the Orang Asli upper primary students. The 36-multiple-choice-item BSPS Test was administered to a total of 348 years 4, 5 and 6 students from an urban primary school in Malaysia. The analyses were performed descriptively and inferentially utilizing an independent samples ttest and one-way ANOVA. The findings indicated that: (1) the Malay students showed an acceptable mastery level for the skills of classifying (71.12%) and predicting (67.43%); (2) the Orang Asli students failed to show an acceptable mastery level across all the BSPS; (3) there were statistically significant differences in the mastery levels across all the BSPS between the Malay and the Orang Asli students, favouring the former; (4) among the Malays, year 6 students achieved markedly higher than year 4 students in classifying, and that years 6 students achieved markedly higher than.....

Hubungan Pengetahuan Konseptual dan Pengetahuan Prosedural dengan sikap terhadap Matematik murid Tingkatan Empat

Abstract
Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan hubungan pengetahuan konseptual dan pengetahuan prosedural dengan sikap terhadap matematik murid Tingkatan Empat. Penumpuan diberikan kepada aspek sikap yang terbahagi kepada empat iaitu keselamatan, nilai, motivasi dan keseronokan. Pengukuran aspek pengetahuan adalah berdasarkan Ujian Pengetahuan Konseptual (UPK) dan Pengetahuan Prosedural (UPP). Pengukuran aspek sikap pula menggunakan instrumen Attitude Towards Mathematics Inventory (ATMI) yang terdiri daripada 40 item berskala Likert. Seramai 350 orang responden telah dipilih daripada lima buah sekolah menengah harian biasa di Daerah Petaling Utama, Selangor sebagai sampel kajian. Data kajian telah dianalisis menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan inferensi. Metagenomic profiling on diversity and gene function of microbial community inhabiting bris soil

Abstract
Beach Ridges Interspersed with Swales (BRIS) soil, widely distributed along the Kelantan_Terengganu plains, is characterized by poor physical and chemical properties, making it a challenging environment for agriculture. Soil hosts a dynamic ecosystem with diverse microbial communities that play essential roles in metabolic processes and soil health regulation. However, these communities are strongly influenced by physico-chemical properties, and in BRIS soils, the extreme conditions pose significant challenges. A comprehensive understanding of microbial community composition can help identify strategies to improve soil health in BRIS environments. This study investigated the microbial community composition of BRIS soils using a metagenomic approach, evaluated the effects of physico-chemical characteristics, and predicted microbial metabolic functions.
