Membina dan menilai modul bioaction bagi pengendalian aktiviti amali mata pelajaran Biologi tingkatan empat

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan membangun dan menilai Modul Bioaction berorientasikan Model ASSURE dan digabungjalinkan dengan Model Inkuiri, IDEAL dan Model Konstruktivisme Needham Lima Fasa. Kajian ini menggunakan kaedah kuantitatif, melibatkan 60 orang pelajar Tingkatan Empat aliran sains di sebuah sekolah daerah Cameron Highlands. Modul Bioaction yang dibina mengandungi manual eksperimen pelajar, manual guru, borang senarai semak penilaian keupayaan pelajar mengendalikan aktiviti amali, dua set kertas soalan penilaian dan skema jawapan. Bagi menilai modul ini, sebanyak tiga eksperimen telah dipilih berdasarkan sukatan pelajaran Biologi Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia. Setiap eksperimen melibatkan lima elemen iaitu keupayaan merancang eksperimen, menjalankan eksperimen, mengumpul data, mentafsir data serta membuat kesimpulan, dan mengaplikasi eksperimen dengan topik pembelajaran. Use of word recognition skills in improving year five pupils identification of English words at a rural Tamil school.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to help weak pupils to identify more words in English by using word recognition skills. The subjects were four Year 5 pupils who were very weak in English. This study employed a qualitative research method. It was a descriptive case study using four weak pupils and it was conducted for 16 days. The samples were screened by using their Year 1 to Year 4 final examination results and those who obtained grade D and E were chosen. The pupils were asked to recognize the key words from Dolch Lists using word recognition skills. When they had succeeded in these activities, they were asked to recognize words in three texts from Year 4 and Year 5 English textbooks. The findings showed that the pupils improved in all three word recognition skills namely configuration clues, phonemic clues and picture clues. Abstract

The objectives of the study were to identify the special features of Villi Bhaaratham, to analyse personality of Kannan in epic Villi Bhaaratham and to analyse the factors influencing the personality of Kannan in epic Villi Bhaaratham sung by Villi Putthurar. This study was based on qualitative method of research and the data were collected through descriptive and analytical approaches. Eysenck’s Personality theory was used in this study. This theory consists of many traits including Extroversion, Neuroticism, Psychotism and some more. A total of 600 texts were used to identify the personality of Kannan from the epic Villi Bhaaratham. All the texts were analysed using the Eysenck’s Personality theory. Moreover, the factors influencing the personality of Kannan in epic Villi Bhaaratham were analysed. Abstract

This study tries to identify the image of the Malaysian Tamil community and to look at the social problems that surround the Malaysian Tamil community by analysing the poems written by Mr. Seeni Naina Mohamed. Its aim is to explore the various techniques deployed in exposing the prevailing problems amongst the Tamil community of Malaysia, as found in the ‘Thenkoodu Collection of Poems’. This study uses the sources of data which are taken from the 265 poems found in the ‘Thenkoodu Collection of Poems’. A Sociologist Theory – Functionalist Perspective is used as a reliant for this qualitative study. This study is aimed at analysing the underlying social problems of the Malaysian Tamil community, using the thematic analysis collected through the documental study and the unstructured interviews conducted. Abstract

Kajian kuantitatif ini bertujuan untuk menentukan kesan kaedah inkuiri terhadap minat, sikap dan interaksi sosial murid dalam mata pelajaran Sains Tahun 5 di daerah Bangsar/Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kajian tinjauan. Responden kajian terdiri daripada 383 orang murid Tahun 5 dan 20 orang guru Sains Tahun 5 daripada 10 buah sekolah dari daerah Bangsar/Pudu, Kuala Lumpur. Pengajaran dan pembelajaran berlangsung selama enam minggu. Data dikumpulkan melalui soal selidik untuk mengukur tahap minat, sikap dan interaksi sosial murid dalam mata pelajaran Sains setelah didedahkan dengan kaedah inkuiri. Responden kajian murid menjawab soal selidik murid yang mengandungi 32 soalan, manakala responden kajian guru pula menjawab soal selidik guru yang mempunyai 44 soalan. Kajian ini adalah bertujuan unruk mengkaji keberkesanan aktiviti pembinaan herbarium dalam pembelajaran topik Kepelbagaian Tumbuhan bagi mata pelajaran Sains tingkatan 2. Populasi kajian terdiri daripada 160 orang pelajar tingkatan 2 Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Ringlet Cameron Highlands, negeri Pahang. Seramai 80 orang pelajar sebagai kumpulan eksperimen yang telah mengikuti aktiviti pembinaan herbarium dan 80 orang pelajar sebagai kumpulan kawalan yang telah mengikuti pembelajaran kaedah biasa dengan membuat folio bagi topik Kepelbagaian Tumbuhan telah dipilih secara persampelan bertujuan.
