The  purpose  of  the  study  was  to  determine  the  effects  of  stance-width  on  muscle  activation and number of repetitions completed during narrow, shoulder-width and wide stance during  Romanian deadlift (RDL) exercise. Thirty recreationally active, resistance trained  men,  aged   19-23  years  old  were  randomly  recruited  based  on  volunteerism  as participants  in  this   study.  The  participants  were  assigned  to  perform  the  RDL  with narrow, shoulder-width and  wide stances while carrying 80% of one repetition maximum loading. Muscle activation was measured  using electromyography (EMG) method at the vastus lateralis, biceps femoris, gluteus maximus and  multifidus muscles. The EMG data were reported in concentric and eccentric values. The participants  were given three trials, and the number of repetitions and EMG of most successful set were taken to  be analyzed.
