Modelling of teachers leadership competencies and its relationships with principals developmental leadership behavior and teachers commitment to change

The main purpose of this study is to develop an empirically substantiated Teacher Leadership Competency Model (TLCM). The study also aspired to identify the relationship between Teachers’ Leadership Competencies (TLC) and Principals’ Developmental Leadership Behavior (PDLB), PDLB and Teachers’ Commitment to Change (TCC). Further, the study also intended to ascertain the relationships among TLC, PDLB and TCC. Structural Equation Modeling was applied to test the model. A total of 928 teachers from 58 High Performing Secondary Schools in Malaysia completed the survey. The analysis yielded a four-factor TLC Model, namely Fostering a Collaborative Culture; Facilitating Improvement and Establishing Standards for Student Behavior, Modelling Leadership Attributes and Skills; and Performing as Referral Leader. This study proposed to investigate the influence of teachers’ self-directed professional learning in enhancing Teachers’ Leadership Competency (TLC) through teachers’ Action (ACT), Thinking (THI), Feeling (FEE), Accessing (ACC) in Facilitating Improvement and Establishing Standards (FIES), Modeling Leadership Attributes and Skills (MLAS), Participating in Organizational Development (POD), Fostering a Collaborative Culture (FCC), and Performing as Referral Leader (PRL) as well. The data will be collected from 301 teachers from 12 sample schools through self-administered of Teacher Learning and Competency Scale (TLCS) survey instrument. Preschool teachers peer leadership readiness in mobilizing fun innovative inquiry in the New Horizon

The main purpose was to assess preschool teachers’ peer leadership readiness in mobilizing ‘Fly with virtual Peer-Led Fun Innovative Inquiry’ (Fly with v-PeLFII) whilst validating the effectiveness of ‘Fly with virtual Peer-Led Fun Innovative Inquiry Model’ (Fly with v-PeLFII Model). The 3-point likert scale survey instrument which consists of seven constructs were gathered from 35 preschool teachers who attended the ‘Fly with v-PeLFII 21’ virtual workshop. Comparative analysis of Pre-Test and Post-Test of ‘Fly with v-PeLFII Model’ and descriptive statistics were utilized to analyze the data. The increased percentage from Pre-Test to Post-Test within the range of 57.14 percent to 71.43 percent revealed that 35 preschool teachers from Perak are ready to lead their peer teachers in mobilizing fun innovative inquiry in the new horizon.
