In this study, six samples of good essays have been selected for analysis. Samples consist of students in Form 2 from a school Malaysia. Hermeneutics Pedagogical method is used to analyze student essays to identify styles of cognition and affection involved in essay writings. The results of hermeneutics pedagogy method give interpretations through style interpretation of cognition and affection experienced by students in the subconscious and conscious mind during essay writing. Results show that the students will be able to extract information and past experiences of long-term memory and short term memory assisted through the style of cognition and affection. 3 | 2018 Thesis | Integrating English with total physical response as an effective method for preschoolers cognitive development Govindan Nair, Krishnavani Anmal This qualitative naturalistic observational study explores integrating English with Total Physical Response (TPR) for preschoolers’ cognitive development. Research is built upon, review of cognitive developmental theorists, stakeholders, teachers’ feedback with researcher’s empirical knowledge and experience. The right and left brain coordination in cognitive development provides a unifying perspective for this research. In order to accentuate the TPR curriculum, conducive, learning environments, teaching tools and competent teachers are necessary complements to dual-hemisphere collaboration for cognitive development. Qualitative observation of 5 years old, 10 participants’ cognitive attributes, through participants’ response and perspectives towards this teaching-learning approach justified findings pertinent to research questions. Studies related to the quality of preschool education and preschool teachers? professional qualifications are very limited in Malaysia. As such, this study embarks on finding the effects of ECCE teachers? professional qualifications on their understanding of overall ECCE training, perceptions of the quality of ECCE training, understanding of ECCE curriculum, and their understanding of the teaching and learning process. This study employed the descriptive research design using questionnaires to collect the data. The sample of the study consists of 296 preschool teachers from West Malaysia. 5 | 2019 Article | The development of Bar Model Fraction Kit in solving higher order thinking skills mathematics word problems Lavina Nair Madawan Nair The purpose of this study is to develop and validate the Bar Model Fraction Kit. To enhance the validity of this instrument, four experts had reviewed the instrument. The Cohen kappa value is 0.80. This indicates a “Good” extent of agreement. There were 15 students involved in the pilot test. The students used the Bar Model Fraction Kit to answer the test items. From the analysis, it was found that the Cronbach alpha coefficient value is 0.765. This shows that the Bar Model Fraction Kit has acceptable reliability

6 | 2019 Article | The effectiveness of bar model fraction kit in solving higher order thinking skills mathematics word problems Lavina Nair Madawan Nair This study aims to determine the effectiveness of Bar Model Fraction Kit based on students' achievement in answering Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) word problems. A total of 48 Year 5 students from Batang Padang District, Perak were involved in a quasi-experiment using pre-test and post-test. The students were divided into a control group and a treatment group. The control group(n=23) uses the teaching and learning process (TnL) with the conventional method, while the treatment group (n=25) runs the TnL using the Bar Model Fraction Kit. Data were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney Test. The results indicated that during post-test, students who used Bar Model Fraction Kit showed significant improvement in their HOTS level (p=0.000). In conclusion, the students who undergone TnL using Bar Model Fraction Kit performed better than the students in the conventional group. performance of Year 5 students in solving Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) addition and
subtraction of fraction word problems. This study also aims to determine the effective problem
solving strategy using the Fraction Slider. This study employed the design and development
research (DDR) with a combination of quantitative and qualitative approach. In this study, DDR
is limited to two phases; (1) Design and Development and (2) Evaluation. The first phase involved
design and development of Fraction Slider using ADDIE Model. Three panel of experts were involved
to validate the Fraction Slider using the expert opinion questionnaire. The percentage of experts’

of education. This research aims to investigate the challenges faced by the English
Language novice teachers and the support received by the novice teachers to overcome
the challenges. Moreover, this research also investigated how far teacher education
prepares novice teachers in facing the challenges encountered in the first three years of
the teaching profession. This research has adopted a mixed-method research design in
which the data for the questionnaire were collected from 80 novice teachers and
interviews from 5 novice teachers. The results indicated that the most frequent
challenges encountered by the novice teachers were (1) workload challenges, (2)
instructional challenges, and (3) social status and identity challenges. The results also
