Location based social media content: a conceptual paper on travellers purchase decisions
Haseeb ur Rehman Khan
The aim of this paper is to conceptualize the significance of location based user generated content in creating superior value to aid travellers in their decision making regarding traveling products and services. A comprehensive review of latest conceptual and empirical literature was grounded to develop the propositions. Millennial generation of Malaysia shall be taken as a social lab for examining the propositions, and to report the empirical findings. The finding of this study provides a basis for developing a model to obtain the significance of location base user generated content on travel decisions. This study could be of practical value for organizations and highlighted the importance of participatory user generated content as well as significant for travellers who want to improve on-travel decisions accuracy. This study suggested a special focus on millennials in Malaysia since they are considered as a potential cluster of markets. This paper makes a significant contribution by.....

The purpose of this study was to investigate the mediating effect of customer inspiration between customer-defined market orientation, customer satisfaction and customer loyalty among  PROTON users. The study was quantitative in nature. A Total of 357 responses was collected through  random sampling from respondents who were users of PROTON automobile in Malaysia. Resource Based  Theory (RBT) was used to explain the effect of customer-defined market orientation on customer  satisfaction and customer loyalty, with mediator customer inspiration. Partial Least Square (PLS)  technique was used to test the proposed  research  model.  Results  revealed  that  customer   satisfaction  (R² =  0.412)  and customer  loyalty  (R² =  0.578)  are  directly  influenced  by   customer-defined  market orientation  and  customer  inspiration.  The  study  reported   significant  factors  customer orientation (β = 0.1955, t = 2.7731), competitor orientatio.....

The mediating role of real-time information between location-based user-generated content and tourist gift purchase intention
Mustafa Rehman Khan
The global use of Web 2.0 applications has generated enormous volumes of user content. Drawing on cognitive load theory, this study examines unexplored factors that influence gift purchase intention of tourists. The authors identify localization and real-time information for shaping tourists' gift purchase intention, which is facilitated by reduced cognitive overload. Analyzes of the study relies on a sample of 273 foreign tourists in Malaysia. A cross-sectional quantitative study is conducted using partial least square structural equation modeling. Results showed that location-based user-generated content and real-time information significantly affect gift purchase intention of tourists. Moreover, real-time information partially mediates the relationship between location-based user-generated content and gift purchase intention. ? 2021 Akdeniz University Publishing House. Contextual suggestion and recommendation systems: a review on challenges in user modeling and privacy concern
Khan, Haseeb ur Rehman
The contextual suggestion systems are emerging as modified recommendation systems integrated with information retrieval techniques to search within large databases with the purpose to provide a user with a list of suggestions based on context i.e. location, time of the day, any day of the week (weekdays or weekend). The goal of this research is to conduct a systematic review in the field of contextual suggestion and recommendation systems incorporate with smart cities as the repositories of large datasets. This paper highlights the concerns linked with approaches being used in the contextual suggestion system and discussing various approaches which are being utilized in the contextual suggestion system. The keywords for query searching include; “contextual suggestion”, “recommendation system” and “smart city” which identified 191 papers published from 2012 to 2020. Four major article repositories were considered for searching (i) Science Direct, (ii) Scopus, (iii) IEEE, and.....

An improved approach contextual suggestion system for E-Tourism
Khan, Haseeb Ur Rehman
The contextual suggestion system is defined as “generating a list of venues for a user, based on temporal and geographical context as well as traveller’s preferences relating to venues to be suggested”. A lack of effective methodologies has compromised the accuracy of the contextual suggestion system in e-tourism. In this regard, the Text Retrieval Conference (TREC) has been organized yearly to focus not only on the development of information retrieval systems but also on the approaches leading to the improvement of the systems. Besides, TREC provides datasets and standard protocols for evaluation to ensure fair comparisons. In the study, an improved approach based on four main phases has been proposed for the contextual suggestion system in e-tourism, namely, (i) Dataset Enrichment, (ii) Profile Enrichment, (iii) User Modelling, and (iv) Ranking Suggestion. The TREC dataset is used to evaluate the proposed approach. In the Dataset Enrichment’s improvement, tags pred.....

The effect of sustainable supply chain management and sustainability governance on sustainable performance
Khan, Mustafa Rehman
This study aimed to assess the key determinants of sustainable supply chain management (SSCM) (i.e., sustainable supplier management (SSM), sustainable operation management (SOM), and sustainable customer management (SCM) and examined their impact on sustainable performance (SP) (i.e., economic performance (ECP), social performance (SCP), and environmental performance (ENP)). Furthermore, this study investigated the mediating effect of sustainability governance (SSG) between SSCM and SP. A purposive sampling was used in this cross-sectional study through an online survey among managers of ISO 14001-certified Malaysian manufacturing organizations using an online questionnaire. Following a pilot test, an online survey was used to obtain 348 survey responses. After the data screening, only 328 responses were retained for analysis. The obtained data were analysed by employing PLS-SEM approach using SmartPLS 3.3.2 software. Results revealed that ECP (R2=0.540), SCP (R2=0.597), an.....
