Effects of augmented feedback on squat technique among eleven years old children

Abstract

Journal of Sports Science and Physical Education 5(1): 1-8, 2016 - The purpose of this study was to compare the acquisition of performing the squat technique using visual and verbal feedback among eleven years old children. Thirty standard 5 students from a semi urban primary school were recruited for this study. Each participant performed the squat without any provision of feedback in the pre-test. Their performance was assessed using the Motion Competency Screen (MCS) scale. The pre-test scores were used to divide the participants randomly into three groups (i.e., visual-, verbal-feedback and control). During the acquisition phase (two weeks), the visual group (video recordings of their performance) received feedback about the correct squat technique by a qualified trainer while the verbal feedback group received verbal instructions and feedback from the same instructor on their performance. Entrepreneurs acceptance of the costing skills course

Abstract

Costing skills are among the critical skills that SME owner-managers should have for managing a successful enterprise. However, Malaysian SME owner-managers still lack costing skills. The current entrepreneurial training programme provided by the government and its agencies lacks a module on costing skills. Thus, this study is conducted to develop a costing skills course within the entrepreneurial training programme conducted by the government. This study employs a practical action research (AR) approach. Practical AR training includes a cyclical process of planning, acting, observing and reflecting. Each stage of practical AR provides feedback for improvement of the next stage. At the acting stage of this research, feedback was collected and this is the focus of this paper. Penglibatan murid dalam program satu murid satu sukan sekolah rendah di daerah Kuala Kangsar, Perak

Abstract

Kajian ini adalah bertujuan untuk mengukur tahap dan faktor penglibatan pelajar dalam kegiatan kokurikulum Satu Murid Satu Sukan (1M 1S) sekolah rendah di Daerah Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Kajian ini juga mengukur tahap kebolehgunaan kemudahan dan peralatan sukan dan tahap kemahiran Guru Penasihat 1M 1S di sekolah. Di samping itu, kajian ini juga mengesahkan secara empirikal perkaitan di antara kedua-dua tahap tersebut dengan tahap penglibatan pelajar dalam kegiatan kokurikulum 1M 1S. Seramai 201 orang guru dipilih sebagai responden dan instrumen soal selidik atas talian telah digunakan. Analisis statistik deskriptif dan ujian korelasi telah digunakan dan hasil dapatan menunjukkan tahap penglibatan pelajar dalam kegiatan kokurikulum 1M 1S mencatatkan keputusan tertinggi pada peratusan kehadiran antara 80% hingga 100% dengan jumlah kekerapan sebanyak 116 iaitu 57.7%.
