Assessing financial and macroeconomic factors influencing the Islamic Real Estate Investment Trusts stock return in Malaysia

Abstract

The Islamic Real Estate Investment Trust (i-REIT) serves as an alternative Islamic investment instrument to sukuk and shariah compliant stock, which observes i-REIT experiencing a significant growth and demand in portfolio property value and Islamic market capitalization. The attractiveness of i-REIT has made it to become one of the common real estate investments apart from the physical property investment with a long-term and cheaper capital for property ownership. Likewise, the continual expansion of the i-REIT market in Malaysia is making great financial motivation that expands the investment spectrum. Therefore, the need to study the driving financial and macroeconomic interaction force with i-REIT stock return, which in turn further contributes to the Islamic finance literature. The kampong spirit is regarded as the foundation of Chinese culture in Singapore, and Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong has repeatedly emphasized the importance of “reshaping the kampong spirit” for Singaporean society. The “Kampong Spirit” was born in the early Chinese settlements in Singapore, and it is also the product of comprehensive factors such as specific history, geography, humanities, and political environment. Kajian ini dijalankan bertujuan untuk melihat keterlibatan murid Kolej Vokasional berpencapaian rendah dalam Matematik sama ada keterlibatan tingkah laku, keterlibatan kognitif atau keterlibatan afektif serta mengenalpasti jenis keterlibatan yang mempengaruhi individu terbabit dalam mempelajari Matematik. Cameron Highlands mula menjadi terkenal sebagai pusat peranginan tanah tinggi setelah dibuka oleh juru ukur British, William Camerons pada tahun 1888. Keindahan kawasan ini dengan kekayaan persekitaran sejadi yang menarik dan keunikan suhu (cuaca) menjadikan kawasan ini sebagai pusat pelancongan yang diminati oleh pelancong. Kesannya, Cameron Highlands telah membangun dengan pesat terutama dengan pembinaan hotel, ‘chalet’ dan kemudahankemudahan lain untuk kemajuan industri pelancongan. Di samping itu, pembangunan tanah juga pesat dilakukan untuk kegiatan pertanian (terutama sayur-sayuran berhawa dingin dan bunga-bungaan), pembinaan jalan raya dan petempatan. Language identity: variability in phonology in different races in Malaysia

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the variants of phonology sounds /θ/, /ð/, /ʃ/ and /tʃ/ among different races which are Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races such as Kayan, Melanau and Dusun. In Malaysia, the English language is the second official language and there are varieties on how people of different ethnicity pronounce certain words in their speech.This study was mainly based on the investigation on the pronunciation of words which had those sounds of 32 participants from Sultan Idris Education University. The first language of these participants varied as we have selected eight participants from each category of races. This study was conducted by adapting the variability model developed by William Labov (1970). The findings indicate that the majority of the participants had varieties in the pronunciation of /θ/ and /ð/ sounds. The study aims to build, and acquire content validity and reliability of Pre University Students Stress Inventory. The Pre University Students Stress Inventory’s questionnaires aim at measuring the stress that students at the Foundation Level, Matriculation, Form Six and Pre University students in all Public Universities and Private Institutions of Higher Learning Suffer. Its theoretical basic is based on the theory of Reality by William Glasser (1965). It contains 42 items divided into 5 subscales. These subscales are categorized as follows: subscale 1, the desire for survival, sub-scale 2, the sense of belonging, sub-scale 3 is the desire for power, sub-scale 4 is the desire for freedom and sub-scale 5 is the desire for pleasure. Tujuan kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti hubungan antara media baharu dan tingkah laku devian dalam kalangan pelatih Institusi Pemulihan Akhlak (IPA) di Negeri Perak Darul Ridzuan. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kajian kes dan populasi kajian terdiri daripada 170 orang pelatih daripada Sekolah Tunas Bakti, Taiping (STB) dan Taman Seri Puteri, Batu Gajah (TSP) di Perak. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 118 orang pelatih dipilih menggunakan teknik persampelan rawak. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah temu bual berstruktur dan soal selidik yang diubahsuai daripada William dan Buss dan Perry. Darjah kebolehpercayaan soal selidik diuji dengan menggunakan Cronbach Alpha di mana nilai keseluruhannya ialah 0.918. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis persepsi masyarakat Iban terhadap tenunan pua sungkit di Batang Ai. Tiga objektif kajian ini ialah untuk mengenal pasti pua sungkit di kawasan Batang Ai, meneliti fungsi pua sungkit dalam kehidupan masyarakat Iban dan melihat perubahan dalam pembuatan pua sungkit yang melibatkan sepuluh buah rumah panjang di Batang Ai, Lubok Antu. Untuk mencapai objektif berkenaan, pengkaji melaksanakan kaedah kepustakaan dan kaedah lapangan dengan mengaplikasikan Teori Budaya (David Kaplan & Albert A. Manners) dan Teori Seni (Robert William). Jenis analisis data kualitatif telah dilakukan ke atas empat belas informan dan lima puluh responden menjelaskan hubungkait di antara penghasilan pua sungkit dengan budaya masyarakat Iban.
