This rapid urbanization has changed the social, economic, and environmental landscapes due to several factors such as population growth, economic development, and rural-urban migration. Therefore, this paper explores the evolving landscape of urbanization in Malaysia and emphasizes the urgent need for effective urban design and planning strategies to tackle the challenges of rapid growth. This study employed content analysis to examine established urban design theories from influential thinkers like Kevin Lynch, Jane Jacobs, Daniel Burnham, Le Corbusier, Janette Sadik-Khan, and Nabeel Hamdi to uncover valuable insights for enhancing urban environments.
