Nasir bin Nayan, Hanifah binti Mahat, Mohmadisa bin Hashim, Yazid bin Saleh, Zahid bin Mat Said
This study uses a quantitative technique and questionnaires to assess geo-disaster literacy among Cameron Highlands schoolchildren, where flash floods and landslides are common. Simple random sampling with descriptive and inferential analysis (ANOVA and Spearman’s Rho correlation) was used to sample 327 Form 3 students. The findings demonstrate strong knowledge, attitude, and practice (M=4.34, SP=2.08). A one-way ANOVA study reveals a significant difference between knowledge and attitude (F=6.372, P=..

Comics as Engaging Tools for Teaching Geography
Hanifah binti Mahat, Yazid bin Saleh, Nasir bin Nayan
An educational comic is a graphic work that creates various characters focused on scientific elements as an approach to classroom learning. This study aimed to develop comics as a geography learning module for form four students on river formation and sustainability. This study employs two approaches: questionnaires for the quantitative method and document analysis for the qualitative method. The study analyzed two key documents: geography textbooks and the Curriculum Standard Documents and Assessment (DSKP). Distributing the questionnaire allowed the expert to validate and provide feedback on the applicability of comics. The analysis uses the content validity index (CVI) to evaluate content validity, while descriptive analysis (mean, standard deviation) was used to test the applicability of comics. The study showed that the five experts’ CVI analysis of module content, teaching design, and technical requirements is high. Findings showed that the comics’ level of applicability is h.....

Development of the SiAlong Platform to Improve Digital Literacy on Landslide Disasters among Generation Z in Semarang City
Hanifah binti Mahat
This study is a development research which proposes to create a digital platform to enhance digital literacy concerning landslide disasters for Generation Z. The findings indicate that in Semarang City, Generation Z frequently accesses information from the internet and finds it extremely helpful. However, their knowledge and literacy regarding preparedness for landslide disasters remain low, which highlights their need for a digital literacy platform on this topic. Based on this requirement, the researchers developed the SiAlong platform, short for "Landslide Preparedness Information System". This platform is a website accessible by users on various devices, including Android and iOS smartphones, as well as computers, laptops, PCs, and tablets. To date, the availability of digital platforms for information and education on landslide disasters is very limited. Digital technology is predominantly used for developing sensing systems, detection, prediction, or monitoring of landslide disas.....

Spatial-Temporal Distribution and Vulnerability Level of Tidal Flooding in the Coastal City of Semarang
Hanifah binti Mahat
As a city located in the northern coast of Central Java, Semarang continuously faces serious challenges related to annual tidal flooding. This research specifically examines the multi-temporal distribution of tidal floods in the 2020-2024 time span. Using the Change Detection method on Sentinel-1 SAR satellite imagery, the distribution of tidal flooding during this period was determined. The data obtained was then further processed with overlay techniques to produce more detailed information. This technique allows for mapping areas with different levels of tidal flood vulnerability, and the overlay results were used as one of the parameters in the Composite Mapping Analysis (CMA) method, which integrates various related parameters. The results point out that the coastal areas of Semarang City, including the sub-districts of Tugu, West Semarang, North Semarang, East Semarang, Gayamsari, and Genuk, are dominated by high vulnerability levels. These areas have a high vulnerability percenta.....

Exploring corpus linguistics via computational tool analysis: key finding review
Norfaizah Binti Abdul Jobar, Md Zahril Nizam bin Md Yusoff, Hanifah binti Mahat
Corpus linguistics investigates language using extensive text databases. Tools assist researchers in analyzing, extracting, and interpreting linguistic information efficiently. Furthermore, if researchers only use traditional tools in corpus linguistic analysis, they will lack the comprehensiveness and efficiency required to effectively navigate and derive valuable insights from language data. This paper employed the preferred reporting items for systematic reviews and meta-analyses (PRISMA) approach to find the primary data based on a few keywords in corpus linguistic, corpus analysis, computational linguistic, text corpora and tool support. Based on this method, we used advanced searching techniques on Scopus and Web of Science (WoS) and discovered (N=28) data pertinent to the study. Expert scholars decide on a theme based on the problem, which is (i) types of corpus tools and their uses; (ii) their contributions and their capabilities, and (iii) limitations of corpus tools. All the .....
