| 1 | 2017 Thesis | Digital practices at home and school: a case study approach Haslinda Hashim The study illustrates children's digital practices in the Malaysian context. The 21 st
century has witnessed an unprecedented expansion of and access to information for
people who can use technology. Nowadays, information can be reached in the blink
of an eye and is accessible at our fingertips. Since the 1990s, the internet revolution
has helped people to search for information through their networked computers, and
mobile gadgets have more recently made this even easier as people can carry
information in their own pockets. However, this steady increase in internet usage
and mobile device ownership, particularly among schoolchildren in Malaysia over
the last few years, has been creating fear, anxiety and frustration. Due to a moral
panic in Malaysia regarding children's online safety, to date the majority of the
extant studies carried out in Malaysia are focusing on E-Safety instead of seeking a
deeper understanding of the current digital practices among Malaysian children...... 1065 hits |
| 2 | 2024 Article | Metaverse system adoption in education: a systematic literature review Haslinda Hashim, Ummu Husna Azizan The evaluation of information systems (IS) models, which are employed to research the adoption or acceptance of metaverse systems, is thought to be a subject of major significance. Studying the adoption or acceptability of the metaverse system is not a recent study area, and many academics have taken on the task. We should be acquainted with the leading IS models used in this study trend to assess these models and give academics a comprehensive understanding of this study trend. The primary goal of this research, in contrast to previous reviews, is to systematically evaluate the metaverse research in education from the viewpoint of IS theories/models to offer a thorough pointer that might help the scholars to carry out additional research in metaverse acceptance. A total of 41 research that was published between 2011 and 2022 were examined in the present systematic review. The main study results showed that the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) is recognized as the most widely used mod..... 93 hits |
| 3 | 2024 Article | Exploring the adoption of the metaverse system among elementary students Haslinda Hashim The metaverse is an envisioned realm offering immersive digital spaces, bolstering highly interactive environments within educational contexts. This digital dimension amplifies synchronous communication, uniting a vast number of users as they share their unique experiences. This research aims to scrutinize the perceptions of elementary students towards the metaverse system (MS). Our proposed model underwent validation through the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. Data, sourced from 287 students of Dubai National School, revealed that the primary predictor of students' intent to engage with the MS is personal innovativeness. This is followed closely by perceived usefulness and then perceived ease of use. The findings of this research provide deeper insights into the driving factors behind the adoption of MS among young learners. © 2024, Semarak Ilmu Publishing. All rights reserved... 97 hits |
| 4 | 2024 Article | Convolutional neural network for sentiment analysis on metaverse-related tweets: A deep learning approach Haslinda Hashim Sentiment analysis has become an indispensable tool in interpreting vast amounts of data generated from social media platforms, providing insights into public opinions on a variety of topics. This is particularly relevant in the context of emerging technologies like the Metaverse, which are frequently discussed across digital platforms. Traditional sentiment analysis tools struggle with the volume and complexity of data, particularly when dealing with nuanced discussions around new technologies such as the Metaverse. Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs), known for their success in image processing, have not been extensively validated for their efficacy in analyzing sentiment from text-based social media data. This study introduces a novel approach by applying CNNs specifically to Metaverse-related tweets. This approach leverages CNNs’ ability to extract meaningful patterns from complex textual data, offering potentially superior performance over traditional models. We utilized a data..... 89 hits |
