| 1 | 2014 Thesis | Sumbangan input-persekitaran terhadap pencapaian mata pelajaran Prinsip Perakaunan di Pantai Barat Sabah Kuan, Hee Pit Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan sebab-sebab pelajar memilih mata pelajaran Prinsip Perakaunan dan faktor-faktor Input-Persekitaran yang menyumbang kepada pencapaian dalam mata pelajaran Prinsip Perakaunan di Pantai Barat Sabah. Penyelidik membuat tinjauan melalui soal selidik yang telah dilengkapkan oleh 325 orang pelajar tingkatan empat yang mengambil mata pelajaran Prinsip Perakaunan dari tujuh buah sekolah di daerah Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, dan Papar. Hasil analisis mendapati bahawa majoriti pelajar memilih mata pelajaran ini kerana minat dan aturan sekolah. Terdapat hubungan signifikan positif yang kuat antara ketujuh-tujuh pemboleh ubah bebas yang dikaji dengan pencapaian Prinsip Perakaunan. Namun begitu, hanya pemboleh ubah kualiti usaha, interaksi dengan guru, interaksi dengan rakan, sumber pengajaran, serta pemboleh ubah dummy Bahasa Melayu (BM) Penilaian Menengah Rendah (PMR) gred C dan D (BM A vs BM CD) menyumbang kepada pencapaian Prinsip Perakaunan. | 2 | 2018 Thesis | Understanding the effectiveness of teaching Chinese characters using wiimote interactive whiteboard on primary school students Tan, Kuan Nien This study examines the effectiveness of teaching Chinese characters using Wiimote interactive whiteboard on primary school students. The objectives of this study were to investigate the differences in students’ achievement and motivation in learning Chinese characters between Wiimote Interactive Whiteboard (Wiimote IWB) and traditional pedagogical practice, and to determine the level and factor of acceptance to use Wiimote IWB to teach and learn Chinese characters based on teachers’ perspective. Six teachers and forty-six Year-2 students were chosen as samples for this experiment, who were split into two groups, where the treatment group used the Wiimote IWB in the lesson, while the control group used traditional pedagogy. Pre-tests and post-tests of “listen and write” were conducted and compared using the t-test to investigate the difference in terms of students’ achievement between the groups. Not only the education system has changed, but also more and more tools and gadgets had been invented and developed for the sake of better education. In most developing countries like Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Brunei, Interactive whiteboard (IWB) becomes a strange tool for most new and even experienced teachers. The purpose of this study is to review back the related literature reviews of the effectiveness of the use of IWB for teaching and learning which currently have mixed findings on its contributions as a tool in the classrooms. Thereafter, it believes will lead to the understanding of the use of IWB for teaching Chinese characters.
