To identify challenges faced by students in writing creative essays, methods such as pre-tests, observation, reflective questionnaires, and interviews were employed. The pre-tests revealed key difficulties such as idea generation, language usage, imagination, structure, and a lack of confidence. Subsequently, five stages of interventions were designed and implemented, based on the core principles of metacognitive theory: planning, monitoring, and evaluation. Post-intervention assessments demonstrated significant improvement in students' essay-writing abilities. The application of metacognitive strategies effectively enhanced students_ creativity, clarity, and self-assurance in crafting imaginative essays.
