| 2 | 2018 Article | Muscles activation during forward lunge Mohd Yusof Baharuddin Journal of Sports Science and Physical Education 7(1): Received: 10 January 2018, Accepted: 15 February 2018 – The purpose of this study was to investigate the muscle activation of the quadriceps and the hamstrings muscle during forward lunge. The study was performed using wireless electromyography (EMG) sensor placed on the interest muscles. The parameter used was the root mean square value during forward lunges activity. The results demonstrated that the rectus femoris muscle was more dominant than the biceps femoris muscle during the initial movement when the knee was in flexion direction and the feet was in dorsiflexion. A linear relationship was initiated between the raw data and RMS value of the EMG signal of the rectus femoris and biceps femoris. The motions elicit eccentric activations of the hamstring muscle groups during lunge activity... 589 hits |
| 3 | 2018 Article | Effect of neuromuscular training to prevent anterior cruciate ligament injury among female athletes Mohd Yusof Baharuddin Anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury is more prone on female athletes compared to male athletes in non-contact mechanisms. The purpose of the study was to evaluate the effect of four weeks neuromuscular training which closely associated with the dynamic balance and agility performance for preventing ACL injury among female athletes. There were sixteen female athletes from Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI) who are volleyball, basketball and futsal players participated in this study. The subjects were divided randomly into two groups; control group (CG) and experimental group (EG). The EG experienced four weeks of neuromuscular training while the CG performing their regular training. The pre-test and post-test were measured using Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) for dynamic balance and T-Test for agility. Statistical data were analyzed using independent sample t-test and the results demonstrated significant differences (p ≤ 0.05) for dynamic balance and agility between EG ..... 610 hits |
| 4 | 2019 Article | Effect of augmented feedback on overhead throw performance in netball among primary students Mohd Yusof Baharuddin The overhead throw is crucial in netball which required qualities in the action to produce a fast and accurate throw. The main purpose of this study was to examine the effectiveness of augmented feedback in netball overheadnthrow among primary students. Ten participants were female students from SJK (T) Barathi, Malaysia who never done overhead training during Physical Education lesson. The training started with 12 repetitions and was raised to 20 repetitions 4 weeks later. The results showed that the percentage increased from 60% during the preparatory phase to 100% after augmented feedback. This pattern also similar during execution and follow through a phase which demonstrated an improvement of 50% compared to previous. In conclusion, the results demonstrated that augmentative feedback improved the performance of overhead throwing in netball

| 5 | 2019 Article | Fabrication of low-cost hip implant using direct metal laser sintering technique Mohd Yusof Baharuddin Total hip replacement (THR) is the most popular surgery been performed in orthopedic surgery due to the inclination of musculoskeletal disorder and the aging population worldwide. However, the implant’s cost-burdened the patient, especially in the ASEAN region. The main objective of this study was to fabricate the low-cost hip implant using direct laser metal sintering (DMLS). The framework starts with the three dimensional of hip anthropometric datasets from computed tomography scanner, followed with the design of hip implant, computational analysis using finite element, and finally fabrication using DMLS technique. The morphological results demonstrated the value of neck-shaft angle was 130.46º, and the femoral head offset of 30.35 mm. The finite element analysis showed strain distribution was 65 MPa for the implant in metaphyseal region and 110 MPa for intact femur under staircase physiological loading which indicated inhibition of stress shielding at medical calcar region, and m..... 1456 hits |
