Astigmatism compensation in digital holographic microscopy using complex-amplitude correlation
Tamrin Khairul Fikri, Rahmatullah Bahbibi, Mohamad Samuri Suzani,
Digital holographic microscopy (DHM) is a promising tool for a three-dimensional imaging of microscopic particles. It offers the possibility of wavefront processing by manipulating amplitude and phase of the recorded digital holograms. With a view to compensate for aberration in the reconstructed particle images, this paper discusses a new approach of aberration compensation based on complex amplitude correlation and the use of a priori information. The approach is applied to holograms of microscopic particles flowing inside a cylindrical micro-channel recorded using an off-axis digital holographic microscope. The approach results in improvements in the image and signal qualities...

Intelligent 3D analysis for detection and classification of breast cancer
Suzani Mohamad Samuri
Breast cancer continues to be a significant public health problem in the world. Early detection is the key for improving breast cancer prognosis. Mammography has been one of the most reliable methods for early detection of breast carcinomas. However, it is difficult for radiologists to provide both accurate and uniform evaluation for the enormous mammograms generated in widespread screening. Breast cancer computer aided diagnosis (CAD) systems can provide such help and they are important and necessary for breast cancer control. Micro calcifications and masses are the two most important indicators of malignancy, and their automated detection is very valuable for early breast cancer diagnosis. Since masses are often indistinguishable from the surrounding parenchymal, automated mass detection and classification is even more challenging. This research presents algorithms for building a classification system or CAD, especially to obtain the different characteristics of mass and micro calcif.....

EEG motor imagery applications in brain-computer interface based wheelchair control
Suzani binti Mohamad Samuri
Principally, this study gives an overview about the Neuronal oscillations appear throughout the nervous system in structures as well as, the range of frequencies of clinical and physiological interests for motor imagery EEG signal. In addition, a brief description about MI paradigm which is also known as movement imagery, which is a mental process through which a person imagines a physical action, such as jumping, or moving hands. In particular, event-related desynchronization (ERD) and synchronization (ERS). Finally, a set of studies have been listed towards highlights the advantages of using BCI Competition dataset which is a public dataset that have been widely used in the analysis of the EEG motor imagery signal methods and technique  ..

LACLOD: Learning Analytics For Children’s Logic Development
Suzani Mohamad Samuri
Learning Analytics for Children's Logic Development (LACLOD) is a web-based and mobile friendly learning analytic platform for assessing the logic development of children age 3 to 4 years old in TASKA PERMATA UPSI Malaysia. The platform is developed using Unity and connected through Google Analytics (GA) plugin where it tracked the user interaction for the application. LACLOD is designed only for mobile or tablet which is using Android. In this paper, the development of this learning analytic platform is presented. For evaluation of this system, observation and survey have been used, to get the feedback from 2 teachers (female) and 3 children (2 female and 1 male). Based on the evaluation, it can be seen that there are still rooms for improvement. Female children found it quit hard to understand the game but the male children looked satisfy because he knew on how to navigate the app and he actively played the app by himself. As for teachers, the acceptance to this kind of assessment is.....

A systematic rank of smart training environment applications with motor imagery brain-computer interface
Suzani Mohamad Samuri
Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) research is considered one of the significant interdisciplinary fields. It assists people with severe motor disabilities to recover and improve their motor actions through rehabilitation sessions using Motor Imagery (MI) based BCI systems. Several smart criteria, such as virtual reality, plays a significant role in training people for motor recovery in a virtual environment. Accordingly, Smart Training Environments (STEs) based on virtual reality for MI-BCI users provide a safe environment. They are cost-effective for real-life conditions and scenarios with severe motor disabilities. Fundamentally, the literature presents a lack of comparison of the STE applications considering the smart and effective criteria of the developed applications. Accordingly, three key issues faced the comparison process: importance, multi-evaluation criteria, and data variation, which falls under complex Multi-Criteria Decision Making (MCDM). Performance issues increased compa.....
