The analysis of homological functors of some torsion free crystallographic groups with symmetric point group of order six
Tan, Yee Ting
This study aims to analyze the homological functors of some torsion free crystallographic groups, namely Bieberbach groups, with symmetric point group of order six. The polycyclic presentations for these groups are constructed based on their matrix representations given by Crystallographic, Algorithms, and Tables package, followed by checking their consistency. The homological functors which include the nonabelian tensor square, the G-trivial subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square, the central subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square, the nonabelian exterior square, and the Schur multiplier are determined by using the computational method for polycyclic groups. The structures of the nonabelian tensor squares are explored and the generalization of the homological functors of these groups are developed up to n dimension. The findings reveal that the nonabelian tensor squares and the nonabelian exterior squares of these groups are nonabelian while the rest of the homological functors ar.....

Beberapa cadangan Ranca.....

Identity in contemporary Malaysian literature : diversities, writers’ dilemma and implications for teaching
Jerome Collin, Ting Su Hie, Hashim Ruzy Suliza,
This article examines the construction of diverse identities in contemporary Malaysian literature. Using one literary text, “Neighbours” by Karim Raslan (1996), the analysis shows that the characters, particularly the ancillary male character, Kassim, possesses diverse identities with ethnic identity being foregrounded over other forms of identity that are based on age, social class, gender and sexuality. However, these other forms of identity exert influence over the realization of the characters’ ethnic identity, thereby reinforcing the idea that social identities do not exist in isolation, but interact with each other in the process of identity formation and expression. This article also discusses the dilemmas and challenges that local writers face in constructing the identities of their characters and their own identities in the process, as well as the implications of using the writers’ works to discuss issues related to identity in the literature classroom...

On some homological functors of a Bieberbach group with symmetric point group
Tan, Yee Ting
Bieberbach groups with symmetric point group are polycyclic. The properties of the groups can be explored by computing their homological functors. In this paper, some homological functors of a Bieberbach group with symmetric point group, such as the Schur multiplier and the G-trivial subgroup of the nonabelian tensor square, are generalized up to finite dimension and are represented in the form of direct product of cyclic groups...

The determinants of internet gaming disorder disorder symptoms through avatar identification among multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) gamers
Tng, Soo Ting
The popular game genre, multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA), contain addictive features. Concerns arise when gamers experience adverse consequences, particularly Internet gaming disorder’s (IGD) symptoms. An examination of determinants is crucial to develop a clearer picture of IGD. Uses and Gratification Theory (UGT) was applied to ground the formation of the conceptual framework. There are several research objectives: (1) to identify the cut-off value of the nine-item IGD Scale (short form) and determine the prevalence rate of the disordered group, (2) examine the predictive effects of social phobia, depression, motivations of gaming (achievement, socialisation, and immersion), and identification of avatar on IGD’s symptoms, and (3) explore the mediating effect of identification of avatar among the relationships. The present study applied translation and adaption of the used measures. The conceptual translation was performed to ensure the original meanings of items .....

Identification of avatar mediates the associations between motivations of gaming and internet gaming disorder among the Malaysian youth
T\'ng, Soo Ting
Multiplayer Online Battle Arena (MOBA) genre has been expanding rapidly in Malaysia. However, the nature of this genre is addictive. Research in the area of Internet gaming disorder (IGD) among gamers of this genre is relatively new, signifying a substantial literature gap to be filled. The aim of the present study was to examine the selected determinants (i.e., motivations of gaming and identification of avatar) of IGD among MOBA gamers. The mediating role of identification of avatar in the associations between motivations of gaming (i.e., achievement, socialization, and immersion) and IGD was also investigated. A total of 1175 gamers were recruited through MOBA online groups in social media. Males were accounted for 75.20% (n = 808) and aged between 18 and 29 (Mage = 22.19years, SD = 3.30). The findings revealed that motivation of achievement, motivation of immersion, and identification of avatar positively predict IGD, whereas motivation of socialization negatively predicts IGD a.....

Factor influencing the intention to start-up online business among Malaysian students
Liew, Christine Wen Ting
The starting point of students to start an online business is because of the existence of the intention towards venturing new things. Start an online business is something common towards students who are interested to have extra income while pursuing their study. This study focus on to examine the influence of personal attributes and family support towards the intention to start-up online business among Sultan Idris Education University (UPSI) students. Theory of Planned Behaviour (TPB) are adopt in explaining the relationship between the variables. The data was collected using survey questionnaire towards 107 students in UPSI that was not involved in any business activity. The questionnaire validated can be used for further measurement of the intention to start-up online business. The Cronbach’s alpha was used to test the reliability of the questionnaire. Where multiple regression analysis has been used to test the relation of personal attributes and family support. The f.....
