Malaysian teachers’ perceptions on teaching early mathematics

Teachers’ perceptions of their teaching and learning activities are critical, especially given that the Malaysian preschool curriculum has undergone multiple revisions recently. The purpose of this study was to measure Malaysian teachers’ perceptions on teaching early mathematics. The study aimed to assess teachers’ perception of six constructs, namely, (1) knowledge about early mathematics, (2) readiness to involve in the early mathematics, (3) understanding of the importance of early mathematics, (4) past experience in mathematics, (5) attitudes towards early mathematics, and (6) importance of knowledge about teaching early mathematics. This study gauged the 76 Malaysian preschool teachers using a set of questionnaire. Problems in the subject of History are always discussed at various levels. Issues such as a lack of interest in the subject of History, feelings of stress, the need to memorize a multitude of facts, as well as issues regarding traditional teaching methods, textbooks, classroom management, innovation, and teaching aids, are also extensively debated. These problems have triggered numerous reactions and solutions from multiple parties, each with its approach to solving them. Thus, this article aims to assist the subject of History by providing an alternative solution in the field of intervention as one of the systematic methods of teaching History. SEA's science teacher voices through the modified world cafe

This study investigates the perspectives of science teachers in Southeast Asia (SEA) regarding future curriculum using a modified World Café method. The research involved 19 science teachers from SEA participating in dialogues and a plenary session. Data were collected during the discussions taken place in groups as well as in the plenary session. In addition, an affinity diagram was used to record teachers' voices in each group. Thematic analysis of data from affinity diagrams and participatory discussions identifies key themes and priorities for future curriculum development. The intra-country analysis reveals diverse findings in terms of (1) curriculum and assessment, (2) funding and resource allocation (3) organizational, and (4) context-specific complexities without consensus on underlying causes.
