Analisis dan peramalan data siri masa aliran sungai dengan menggunakan pendekatan kalut

Abstract

Aliran sungai penting untuk dianalisis dan diramal bagi menyalurkan maklumat aliran sungai di kawasan berkepentingan di Malaysia bagi tujuan pengurusan sumber air dan pengawalan banjir. Maka, satu kajian telah dijalankan dengan mengaplikasikan pendekatan kalut bagi menganalisis dan meramal aliran sungai di beberapa kawasan berkepentingan di Malaysia. Perlaksanaan kajian ini adalah merangkumi tiga objektif iaitu (1) mengenal pasti kehadiran telatah kalut pada aliran sungai; (2) meramal siri masa aliran sungai dan (3) mencadangkan kaedah penambahbaikan bagi peramalan aliran sungai. Kajian ini diperincikan kepada kawasan yang lebih spesifik bagi meneliti kesesuaian kaedah yang digunakan. Kawasan yang berbeza ini adalah meliputi stesen aliran sungai di kawasan yang mempunyai keluasan tadahan air yang berbeza, aliran sungai di dataran banjir dan aliran sungai di bandar. Abstract

Proses transformasi dalam bidang pendidikan memerlukan peralihan yang drastik daripada pengajaran dan pembelajaran bercorak konvensional kepada berteknologi tinggi, iaitu penggunaan multimedia. Transformasi ini telah dicetuskan oleh unsur inovasi dan kreatif dalam penerokaan ilmu pengetahuan yang lebih dinamik. Justeru, penyelidikan ini dilakukan untuk mengkaji hubungan sikap kesukaan dengan keyakinan belia universiti terhadap penggunaan multimedia dalam kursus-kursus pendidikan Bahasa Melayu, selain mengenal pasti faktor-faktornya. Penyelidikan ini membabitkan 500 orang belia universiti; Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris dan Universiti Putra Malaysia. Ini membabitkan 250 orang belia universiti bagi setiap universiti telah dipilih sebagai responden kajian. Comparison between conventional and digital essay writing assessment system: Consumer concept and user friendly

Abstract

Significant changes occurred in education system; teaching and learning technology in this new era. The changes can be revised through the existence of digital assessment system for essay writing. In utilizing and interpreting these changes, this study was conducted to examine the use of digital and conventional assessment system for Form Three among Malay teachers. The survey method was used in this study. The samples of the study are 60 teachers of the national secondary school which taught Malay Language for form three in Selangor and Federal Territory of Kuala Lumpur. The data are described descriptively and inferentially. Descriptive data are mean and standard deviation. Inferential data was analyzed using ANCOVA statistics. Teachers opinion towards constructive thinking for teaching essay writing based on interactive multimedia integration

Abstract

Teaching essay writing scenario in this technological era is also aimed on interactive multimedia integration; text and graphics that revolve around inquiry and constructive thinking. In thinking process itself, inquiries are considered fundamental to teachers in teaching essay writing. Hence, this research is conducted to study teacher's opinion on constructive thinking process that based on interactive multimedia integration; text and graphics. Quantitative research design that based survey method is used in accordance with the questionnaire. The samples are 33 Malay Language teachers in Bangsar Zone, Federal Territory Kuala Lumpur. The finding shows that there is a significant correlation between inquiry and constructive thinking, r = 2.01, the level of significant is < 0.05. The effects of virtual text and graphic integration based on interactive multimedia

Abstract

This study was conducted to examine the effect of virtual text and graphic integration based on interactive multimedia in students’ achievements in Malay Language summary writing. This study considers students’ achievements prior to and following exposure to the virtual integration of text and graphics. This study also identifies significant differences between pre and post- test scores in summary writing. A quasi experimental method was used to measure descriptive and inferential data. A total of 30 form four students were involved as a sample. The results showed a significant difference in mean; that is, F =11.2, significant level < 0.05. The conclusions from the study show that a virtual text and graphic integration, based on interactive multimedia, improves achievement scores in summary writing. Determining the chaotic dynamics of hydrological data in flood-prone area

Abstract

Flood-prone areas are associated with hydrological time series data such as rainfall, water level and river flow. The possibility to predict flood is to relate all the three data involved. However, in order to develop a multivariable prediction model based on chaos approach, each datum needs to identify chaotic dynamics. As such, the Sungai Galas, Dabong in Kelantan, Malaysia which is a flood disaster area has been selected for the analysis. Rainfall, water level and river flow data in this area were collected to be analysed using the Cao method to identify the presence of chaotic dynamics. The hydrological data is uncertain, which is difficult to predict because the data involved is located in the area of flood disaster. Isolation and characterization of new thermophilic aminoacylase from Geobacillus sp. Strain Szn

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk memencilkan dan mencirikan aminoasilase termostabil daripada bakterium termofilik. Dalam pemencilan bakterium, sampel air dan sedimen telah diperolehi dari Air Panas Ulu Slim, Perak. Aminoasilase SZN termostabil diekstrak secara intrasellular dan ditulenkan sehingga homogen dengan menggunakan kromatografi pertukaran ion dan pengasingan saiz dalam eksperimen seterusnya. Aminoasilase SZN yang tulen telah dicirikan pada pelbagai suhu, pH, ion logam dan perencat. Kajian struktur lebih lanjut menggunakan spektrokopi sirkular dikroisma dilakukan bagi menentukan kestabilan a-heliks dan lembaran dalam pelbagai suhu. Mathematical modelling based on chaos approach to predict traffic flow.

Abstract

Traffic flow is a continuous phenomenon. The irregular patterns in the traffic flow data show the complexity of the system under a variety of internal and external factors of restrict and influence. As such, local mean prediction method (LMPM) has been employed in order to do prediction. Firstly, traffic flow data has been reconstructed to m-dimensional phase space. Next, the phase space is used to predict traffic flow using chaos approach. The traffic flow data reveals chaotic behaviour through analysis using Cao method. The prediction performance shows that the value of correlation coefficient (CC) is greater than 0.5 for all stations that have been analyzed. The value of CC is good and acceptable due to the complexity of the system. These findings are expected to assist in fulfilling the Road Safety Plan 2014-2020 by the Ministry of Transportation as well as local authorities in traffic management...
