The determining factors of loyalty intention among co-operative members towards consumer co-operatives in Malaysia

Abstract

The objective of this research is to investigate the relationship between the determining factors and loyalty intention among cooperative members’ towards Consumer Co-operatives in Malaysia. Drawing on the deterministic approach that visualizes human to behave, act rationally and in a predictable manner under the influence of the predetermined factors, intention and behavior therefore can be forecasted and managed when the underlying determining factors are identified and explained. This research addresses five (5) variables as the determining factors in the attempt to predict loyalty intention among co-operative members’ towards Consumer Co-operatives. Three (3) of the variables were derived from the Theory of Planned Behavior, a renowned theory, highlighted on the reason people act in accordance upon knowing the reasons. Abstract

Kajian ini dijalankan untuk mengkaji tingkah laku bermasalah dalam kalangan pelajar orang asli di sebuah sekolah menengah. Objektif kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti tingkah laku bermasalah, faktor penyebab tingkah laku bennasalah, jenis tingkah laku bennasalah yang kerap dilakukan serta menganalisis psikologi pelajar terlibat dengan tingkah laku ponteng sekolah berdasarkan pendekatan REBT. Kajian ini berbentuk kajian kes yang menggunakan kaedah perbincangan kelompok fokus melibatkan 18 orang pelajar orang asli dari suku Semai dan Temiar dan temu bual individu terhadap seorang Penyelia asrama, seorang Tok Batin berketurunan Temiar dan seorang Warden asrama. Fasa kedua kajian pula menggunakan kaedah temu bual individu melibatkan lima orang peserta kajian dengan disokong oleh analisis dokumen. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis dengan menggunakan perisian NVIVO. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan terdapat sepuluh jenis tingkah laku bermasalah yang dilakukan oleh pelajar dan enam faktor utama ya.....

The effectiveness of animated transition in Quranic Braille courseware design

Abstract

This research aimed to evaluate the courseware effectiveness of animated transition and users satisfaction in using developed Qur’anic Braille courseware (QBC) prototypes namely QBC(animation) and QBC(graphic). The courseware was developed by using ADDIE model. The mixed-method aproach were used to explore participants views and background with the intention of using this information to develop and test the instrument with a sample from a population. Qualitative methodology was conducted to identify the Islamic education teachers’ background in the aspect of Qur’anic Braille knowledge and identifying users’ satisfaction regarding the design and development of the courseware whilst quantitative method was used to evaluate the courseware effectiveness. Production of artificial seeds of Carica papaya L. var Eksotika

Abstract

Artificial seed production technique for Carica papaya L. var Eksotika is considered as a valuable alternate technology of propagation. Limited availability of the elite genotypes apprehends the utility of the C. papaya L. var Eksotika plants, for industrial use and ecological improvement. Therefore, development of an efficient method for C. papaya L. var Eksotika artificial seeds production by encapsulation of micro shoots in sodium alginate matrix were produced. Artificial seeds of C. papaya L. var Eksotika were produced by encapsulated micro shoots of C. papaya L. varieties Eksotika propagated in vitro. The production of artificial plant seeds of this species offered ideal beads based upon stiffness, texture, size and shape of beads. It was found that 4% sodium alginate and harden in two hundred millimolar CaCl2.2H2O solution produced optimum beads with stiff, clear, round and homogeneous size for 30 minutes among the concentrations tested...

Micropropagation of asparagus officinalis L. (Garden Asparagus) in vitro

Abstract

Asparagus officinalis L. is a herbaceous plant belongs to liliaceae family with semi-erect and branched articulated branches and thick and white root, between 30 and 100 cm in length and 0.7 to 1 cm in thickness and dioecious perennial herb and is native to the Asia, Africa and Europe. This study highlights micropropagation of Asparagus officinalis L. through tissue culture techniques. Asparagus officinalis L. seeds were first washed throughly under running tap water for two hour. And then seed were soaked with distilled water for 24 hours. Seeds were then rinsed using 70%, 50%, 20% and 10% sodium hypochlorite followed by distilled water. This series of seed sterilization was done sequentially. Subsequently seeds were rinsed with 70% ethanol and finally with distilled water prior to culture. Seeds were cultured on Murashige and Skoog, 1962 (MS) basal medium containing 8% agar technical and 30% sucrose. In vitro seed germination was observed within two weeks. Effect of 10 minutes vs 20 minutes passive rest after warm-up on 100 meter sprint time trial performance

Abstract

Research on the effects of the passive rest has been growing exponentially over the past two decades. The aim of this study was to compare the effect of 10 minutes vs 20 minutes passive rest post warm up on performance in a 100 meter sprint time trial. Eight male 100 meter sprinter athletes aged 20-23 (with 1-3 years' experience in competition at the district level or higher) performed two experimental 100 m sprint time trials after 10 minutes and 20 minutes passive rest of the standardized warm up, on separate days separated by 48 hours for each trial. Performance of the athletes which is time trial were assessed and compared. Control group need to perform 100 meter sprint time trial after warm without have passive rest. Performance was improved moderately in 10 minutes compared to the 20 minutes passive rest conditions. Pembangunan dan kebolehgunaan permainan Grab Salt Candy (GSC) bagi standard kandungan penyediaan garam

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan permainan Grab Salt Candy (GSC) bagi standard kandungan penyediaan garam. Selain itu, kajian ini juga mengenal pasti kebolehgunaan permainan GSC bagi standard kandungan penyediaan garam dari aspek kebergunaan, kepuasan, mudah diguna dan mudah belajar dalam kalangan murid tingkatan 4. Reka bentuk kajian ini adalah kajian pembangunan berdasarkan model ADDIE. Kajian ini menggunakan dua instrumen, iaitu borang penilaian kesahan kandungan permainan GSC dan soal selidik kebolehgunaan permainan GSC. Kesahan kandungan permainan GSC memperoleh purata persetujuan pakar sebanyak 96.70%. Seramai 153 orang responden daripada enam buah sekolah menengah di daerah Port Dickson telah menjawab soal selidik kebolehgunaan. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan skor min untuk konstruk kebergunaan (M: 4.23, SP: 0.78), kepuasan (M: 4.42, SP: 0.72), mudah diguna (M: 4.24, SP: 0.79) dan mudah belajar (M: 4.25, SP: 0.78) telah mencapai tahap min yang tinggi.
