Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menguji keberkesanan penggunaan alat bantu mengajar interaktif bagi meningkatkan kefahaman mengenai konsep pengaturcaraan dalam kalangan pelajar. Satu kajian berbentuk kuasi-eksperimen telah dijalankan di sebuah kolej di Perak. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 91 orang pelajar telah dipilih berdasarkan markah ujian-pra mereka. Pelajar-pelajar telah dibahagikan kepada dua kumpulan dengan menggunakan persampelan bertujuan, 53 pelajar dalam kumpulan eksperimen dan 38 orang pelajar dalam kumpulan kawalan. Semasa proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran, pelajar dalam kumpulan eksperimen telah dirawat dengan menggunakan alat bantu mengajar interaktif kontemporari manakala pelajar dalam kumpulan kawalan telah dirawat menggunakan alat bantu mengajar interaktif konvensional. Academic crime for humanities: some notes on logical perception of anti-hadith group movement

Abstract

Purpose of this study: This article discusses the basic principles that must be possessed by Muslim scholars to understand knowledge and its sources. The term ‘academic crime’ generally refers to the conduct of a few university lecturers, who violate the ethics and good practices of the teaching profession through the misappropriationof powers or by making false claims. However, academic crimes can also be classified as frauds in publications. Indeed, the ability to reason is one of the things that a person possesses. Nevertheless, it is not absolute, because the Quran and hadith are on the topmost. Methodology: This study uses the qualitative method and finds excessive rationality by the Anti-Hadith Group (AHG), leading them into a crime, i.e., rejection of the hadith as one of the sources of Islamic law. Comparative analysis of classical test theory and item response theory using chemistry test data

Abstract

Assessment of learning involves determining whether the content and objectives of education have been mastered by administering quality tests. This study assesses the quality of Chemistry Achievement Test and compares the item statistics generated using CTT and IRT methods. A descriptive survey design was adopted using a sample of N=530 students. The specialised XCALIBRE 4 and ITEMAN 4 softwares were used to conduct the item analysis. Results indicate that, both the two methods commonly identified 13(32.5%) items as “problematic” and 27(67.5%) were “good”. Development of a continuous professional development training module based on multicultural counselling competency for professional counsellors in Malaysia

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a continuous professional development training module based on multicultural counselling competency for professional counsellors in Malaysia. The research methodology comprised three phases: (i) training need assess- ment using survey method, (ii) module design and development and (iii) module eval- uation using an experimental design. First, the Multicultural Counselling Competency Survey-Malaysian Counsellor Edition questionnaire was used to collect data from 116 professional counsellors from various work settings. The results clearly indicated the need for continuous professional development training to enhance counsellors’ multicultural counselling competency. The development of the training module adopted Sidek’s model, a Malaysian-based framework for module development. Developing an instrument of life balance factors among female engineers who have family: the application of modified Delphi technique

Abstract

This study aims to obtain expert approval and consensus on Life Balance construct instrument among female engineers who have family. The purpose of this instrument is to identify the factors that assist women engineers to have a well-balanced life. The technique used in developing this Life Balance instrument is the Modified Delphi technique. This technique was used to obtain consensus among experts in developing the Life Balance items. The instrument development was performed by seven experts who have expertise, experience, and knowledge in career and engineering fields. The initial results (interviews with experts) identified four key factors in achieving Life Balance which were childcare, flexible career, leave, and social support. An example of how to obtain an interquartile range (IQR) value using the Modified Delphi technique that was carried out for a second time until the consensus was achieved was provided. Women are likely to leave the job sector as a result of the crisis between their commitments to the career with the household interest. In response to this issue, this study aims to build a career challenge model that caters to the demand among women in this century. Hence, this study has identified the key factors to the challenges faced by female engineers in pursuing theircareer as an engineer through the Delphi Modified Technique. In the context of multiracial and multicultural society, character education is needed to address the issue of education from different social settings. Kajian ini dilaksanakan bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti tahap dan kesan beban kerja, sokongan penyelia, sokongan rakan sekerja terhadap penglibatan kerja dalam kalangan guru Sekolah Berasrama Penuh (SBP) di negeri Selangor. Pendekatan kuantitatif dengan reka bentuk bukan eksperimental telah digunakan dalam kajian ini. Pemilihan sampel kajian dilaksanakan secara pensampelan rawak mudah melibatkan 274 orang guru SBP di negeri Selangor. Instrumen kajian melibatkan soal selidik yang diadaptasi dan diubahsuai mengikut keperluan dan kesesuaian kajian. Kajian ini adalah untuk membentuk model pengukuran pengekalan kerjaya bagi jurutera awam wanita yang telah berkeluarga. Kajian ini menggunakan Model Kerjaya Kaleidoskop, Teori Dua Faktor Herzberg, dan Model Pengekalan Pekerja sebagai panduan. Reka bentuk kajian adalah menggunakan pembangunan model pengukuran. Teknik awal yang digunakan dalam pembangunan instrumen kajian ini adalah teknik Delphi yang telah diubahsuai. Seramai tujuh orang pakar telah dilantik berdasarkan kepakaran dan pengalaman dalam bidang yang dikaji. In this study, an interactive mobile learning web-based system will be developed, 'Basic French-Malay Words,' especially for the first-timer students taking French subjects in schools or universities. The goal of this system's development is to learn the challenges that Malay language students have understanding French as a foreign language utilising existing traditional approach. To address this issue, the initial goal of this research is to establish the system requirements that will make a good learning platform. The next step is to create a mobile learning web-based system that will assist students in overcoming the challenges that arise.
