comprehensive baseline survey of the non-volant small mammal community at Tasek Bera was conducted over a period of 48 days. Several different methods, namely trapping, transect walks and spotlighting were used, as each method is biased to a different species assemblage K total o f 33 species of small mammals from nine orders were recorded. Of these, 15 species are protected under Malaysian laws and five are included in the IUCN Red List. Compared to other sites studied, Tasek Bera showed a relatively high density and biomass o f small mammals. Space use and activity patterns by 3 species of small mammals, namely, Tupaia glis, Callosciunis HQta&is and CL nigrovitatus were determined. The home range size of T. glis ranged from 9,544 to 73,470m2, C. notatus from 6,512 to I6.150nr and C. sigrrwrfalus 10,970m.. There was no overlap in the ranges between individuals of the same species and sex hut the ranges of different species overlapped- There was no significant difference in the mean daily distance moved among the studied individuals. The uncertain knowledge on level of wellbeing among older adults has attracted an increasing number of public, political and scientific attentions. Wellbeing has been described as a state of equilibrium or balance that can be affected by life events or challenges. The purpose of this study is to investigate the relationship between socially productive activities and subjective wellbeing among rural elderly in Perak. A descriptive research methodology was adopted for this research. A broad range of productive factors (such as voluntarism and paid work) and measures of wellbeing (such as self-rated health and life satisfaction) shall be analysing in t-test and Pearson correlation analysis. Information needed are obtained sing a cross-sectional design method across rural districts in Perak. Questionnaires survey was distributed to 480 older adults age from 50 t0 75+. Tujuan  kajian  ini  adalah  untuk  menentukan  kesan  modul  eksperimen  prauniversiti berbantukan telefon pintar terhadap pencapaian pelajar dalam topik daya graviti dan berat. Modul  ini telah dibangun menggunakan model ADDIE dan modul ini telah disahkan oleh enam orang pakar.  Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk kuasi eksperimen pra dan pasca- ujian bagi menguji keberkesanan  modul yang dibangunkan. Sampel kajian terdiri daripada 31 orang pelajar kumpulan rawatan dan 34  orang pelajar kumpulan kawalan yang telah dipilih secara rawak mudah kelompok daripada populasi  seramai 196 orang pelajar yang mengambil kursus Fizik Asas I di salah sebuah universiti awam.  Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada ujian pencapaian dan soal selidik. This study aims to isolate and identify microalgae capable of growing in high nitrate (NNO3-) landfill leachate. Source of isolation was collected from a landfill leachate treatment plant and identified according to morphological characteristics and analysis of partial 18S and 28S rRNA genes. The isolates, identified as Chlorella vulgaris UPSI-JRM01 and Tetradesmus obliquus UPSI-JRM02 were capable of growing at high N-NO3 - concentration of nitrified landfill leachate, which is up to 1500 mg/L. The biomass productivities of Chlorella vulgaris and Tetradesmus obliquus were 36.28 mg/L/day and 40.49 mg/L/day, with 44% and 37% N-NO3- removal, respectively. The biomass of Chlorella vulgaris and Tetradesmus obliquus consisted of 17.72% and 16.32% lipid and, 21.93% and 25.43% carbohydrate, respectively. The protein contents (>50%) were higher than lipid and carbohydrate contents for both microalgal species. The newly isolated microalgae species will be useful for future applications of high N.....

The purpose of this research is study the relationship between socially productive activities and subjective wellbeing among rural elderly in Perak, Malaysia. Quantitative approach and survey method were used in this research. The questionnaire was distributed by simple random sampling to 480 people age 50 to 80 years old located in Muallim, Perak Tengah and Hulu Perak. Data were analysed using descriptive and inferential statistics such as mean, standard deviation, t-test and Pearson correlation. Findings show that respondents agreed that their level of wellbeing is high (M=3.14, SD=0.41). Nevertheless, there is no difference in the wellbeing of the elderly based on their employment status. The findings also show that there is moderate positive relationship between volunteering activities and subjective wellbeing r(480)=0.52(p>0.05). Purpose: This study aims to explore some benefits and challenges of establishing an international accreditation for teacher education institutions (TEIs) by AsTEN Quality Assurance Agency. This specific accreditation agency is expected to improve the quality of teaching, learning and research at TEIs in ASEAN region. Design/methodology/approach: The qualitative study generates data from questionnaires and online semi-structured interviews among ASEAN academics. They work as teacher educators in Indonesia, Singapore, Thailand and Malaysia. Findings: As findings show, participating academics from Indonesia, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand and Brunei Darussalam believe that it is necessary to have a specific international accreditation agency that can properly accommodate particular standards of teacher education. This accommodation is expected to increase the governance of quality teaching, learning and researching to prepare more competent and professional future teachers.....
