Abstract

Tujuan kajian ialah untuk mengukur kesan Intervensi Modul Rakan Mentor (MRM) ke atas penghargaan kendiri, motivasi dan gred keputusan trimester antara Kumpulan Rawatan dengan Kumpulan Kawalan. Kajian eksperimen kuasi praujian-pascaujian dijalankan ke atas 90 subjek (30 dari Kumpulan Rawatan MRM Individu, 30 dari Kumpulan Rawatan MRM Kelompok, dan 30 dari Kumpulan Kawalan) dalam kalangan pelajar rendah pencapaian akademik di sebuah Universiti Swasta. Subjek Kumpulan Rawatan didedahkan dengan Intervensi MRM sebanyak sepuluh sesi yang mengambil masa sepuluh minggu. Instrumen Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale dan Achievement Goal Questionnaire, serta gred keputusan trimester digunakan untuk mengukur penghargaan kendiri, motivasi dan gred keputusan trimester dalam ukuran praujian dan pascaujian. Factors influencing the productive performance of selected goat breeding systems in Malaysia

Abstract

This research was carried out to investigate the factors that influence the productive performance of crossbreeding in goats under controlled feeding and managing. A total of 205 goats from Al Hilmi Agrofarm, Slim River, Perak were used in this study. These goats comprised of three indigenous breeds, namely, Katjang, Boer, and Jamnapari, and their hybrids. Sixty female goats were divided into 2 groups; treatment group (n = 30) which received Controlled Internal Drug Release (CIDR) for 9 consecutive days and artificial insemination was done on the 10th day, and a control group (n = 30) with normal breeding. Adult goats and their kids from each groups were weighed weekly and blood samples were withdrawn in every 2 weeks. Abstract

Green chemistry is an educational approach that is guided by Sustainable Development Education which aims to provide students with the knowledge of scientific solutions on how to solve environmental pollution. This study aimed to develop an instrument to gauge students’ level of green chemistry experiment, knowledge, attitude and practice and to test the usability of the questionnaire developed to explore students’ green chemistry experiment, knowledge, attitude and practice. This quantitative research employed a newly self-constructed Green Chemistry Awareness Questionnaire. The instrument validity and reliability is estimated by two experts and the reliability of the instrument was estimated during the pilot test, yielding Cronbach’s alpha value of 0.926. Questionnaires were distributed to 100 chemistry students from five secondary schools in Muallim district. A correlational study between parental awareness of STEM education and students enrolment for STEM-related subjects for upper Secondary school level

Abstract

This survey analysed parental Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) exposure in three different aspects to predict their student’s enrolment in STEM-related subjects in upper secondary level. The parental exposure towards STEM has been determined in three different aspects: parental socio-demographic information, knowledge towards STEM and their level of awareness on STEM approach. Findings revealed parents occupation has a positive correlation towards student’s enrolment for STEM related options; inferring that student’s enrolment in STEM-related subjects highly increases when the parent’s profession is related to STEM-based career. However, the study also revealed parents with low scores in STEM knowledge and awareness could also provide appropriate opportunities for their students to foster an appreciation for courses related to STEM careers. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to evaluate effect of heavy metals on the blood parameters, biochemical indicators, and histological changes in female Anabas testudineus) Bloch (1792). A total number of 200 female A. testudineus fish were exposed to (zinc chloride 2mg/L, lead chloride 2 mg/L, and copper chloride1.5 mg/L) for 35 days. The numbers of red and white blood cells were counted by using hemocytometer, while blood glucose and liver enzymes were measured by spectrophotometer. The concentrations of heavy metals in the muscles were determined by using Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer. Although green chemistry had been promoted since 1980s, it is still quite unknown in Malaysia even among chemistry teachers and students. Hence, the success of environmental sustainability education would be hard to achieve if chemistry teachers did not have adequate competency and skills to cultivate students' green chemistry awareness and practices. This study investigated Malaysian chemistry teachers’ understanding, awareness and practices on green chemistry; and the impact of student-initiated green chemistry experiments on their practices of environmental sustainability; and on their achievement in the topic of electrochemistry. The objective of this study is to investigate the effect of risk management awareness on financial performance of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Oman by focusing on the relationship between the factors of risk management awareness towards the impact on financial performance in Oman. The study adopts a quantitative research approach using primary survey. Data in this study were collected via questionnaire which was administered to 400 respondents drawn from among Oman-based SMEs. The concept of derivation on rings is an old problem and plays a very important role in algebra, analysis, geometry and physics. The concept of derivation was generalized in different directions as centralizing derivation, Lie and Jordan derivations, (θ, φ)- derivation, generalized derivations and reverse derivations. The main aim of this research is to generalize these concepts. Therefore, the action of (θ, φ)- derivations on Lie and Jordan Ideals of prime rings with characteristic not equal two will be investigated. This study is conducted to construct and examine the usage of al-Amin’s Strategy (SPA) of Akhlak Lessons in bringing up the akhlak-consciousness of form three students in Narathiwat and Pattani provinces. Al-Amin’s Strategy (SPA) are designed based on the Quranic verses 21-34 chapter of Taha, which describes the stories on the values of honesty shown by Prophet Moses a.s (al-Amin) highlighting on the strategy model of learning and teaching aid, the concept of knowing Allah, mastering knowledge, self improvement and soul cleansing. Abstract

Penyelidikan arkeologi di Pengkalan Bujang, Kedah pada awalnya telah dijalankan secara sistematik oleh Quaritch- Wales sejak tahun 1936 hingga 1937 lagi di bawah tajaan Greater India Research Committee yang berpusat di Calcutta, India. Antara tapak yang telah diekskavasi oleh Quaritch-Wales ialah Tapak 18, Tapak 19, Tapak 21, Tapak 22 dan Tapak 23. Beberapa jumpaan penting telah berjaya ditemui semasa ekskavasi yang dijalankan oleh Quaritch-Wales yang mana antaranya ialah arca agama, serpihan seramik, relikuari dan pelbagai artifak yang lain. Alastair Lamb juga telah menjalankan penyelidikan beliau di Pengkalan Bujang di mana beliau lebih memberi fokus kepada jumpaan kaca dan pelbagai jenis manik di Pengkalan Bujang.
