Gender differences in the language use of Malaysian teen bloggers

Abstract

Past researches have shown that there is a difference in language use between males and females attributed by their roles and society’s stereotyping or perceptions. Fast changing technology has provided another means for young people to express themselves using language as a tool. This study investigates the differences in language use by female and male Malaysian teenage bloggers who use blogs as a diary to express their daily issues about life. The language used is informal and similar to spoken language. Using a qualitative approach, this study aims to examine gender differences observed in the language features used by male and female teenagers in their blogs. The findings show that there are differences between male and female bloggers in the frequencies of five language features which are ‘intensifiers’, ‘hedging’, ‘tag questions’, ‘empty adjectives’ and ‘adverbs’. Abstract

Tujuan kajian ini dijalankan adalah untuk mengenalpasti sama ada penggunaan perisian komputer dalam pendidikan muzik dalam proses pengajaran dan pembelajaran akan meningkatkan pencapaian pelajar dalam mata pelajaran pendidikan muzik. Di samping itu, kajian ini juga berfungsi meningkatkan minat pelajar untuk mempelajari muzik. Data mengenai kajian ini dikumpul melalui ujian pos. Di samping itu, satu set soal selidik digunakan dalam mengenalpasti sama ada perisian itu memberi kesan positif dari aspek pembelajaran, minat dan motivasi pelajar. Abstract

ABSTRACT The objective of the article is to refine and shape the government policy of Bangladesh so that the country can exist in the competitive world labour market and earn much foreign remittances. This article would find out the ideal attitudes and policies for the three categories of migrants: pre-migrants, out-migrants and post-migrants for the consideration of the concerned ministry of Bangladesh. For this article, empirical data has been collected from the survey area. This survey was conducted over Chandina Upazila of Cumilla district in August, 2019 through a structured questionnaire. Forecasting modelling of adolescent pregnancy crisis in Malaysia using Runge-Kutta fourth order method

Abstract

Despite the significant dangers that countries suffer when adolescent pregnancy is neglected, this major problem usually receives little attention. In recent decades, the number of teenage girls who get pregnant has increased worldwide. Therefore, this issue has become many countries' main public health concern. This paper aims to use MATLAB to estimate Malaysian teen pregnancy data for the next few years and to find missing data for a particular year. Since the Runge-Kutta is used to forecast the prevalence of adolescent pregnancy in Malaysia, the comparison reveals that the two sets of data are distinct. Therefore, the order four Runge-Kutta method is insufficient to approximate incomplete data for adolescent pregnancy. Although the results show that adolescent pregnancy has decreased over time, we must continue to treat this issue seriously.
