A conceptual review on the relationship between teacher self-efficacy and organisational citizenship behaviour

Abstract

The main objective of this study is to examine the relationship between dimensionality of teacher self-efficacy and organisational citizenship behaviour amongst teachers at government school, Malaysia. Teacher self-efficacy is comprised of personal teaching efficacy and general teaching efficacy. A research issue is highlighted and discussed in detail and thoroughly. A theoretical background for both construct: efficacy theory and organisational citizenship behaviour have been systematically and clearly discussed. Both constructs are also found to be significantly contributed to the school achievement positively. The conceptual framework is also developed based on past empirical arguments. Numerous contributions are pointed out and adequate justification is provided. Past studies revealed and confirmed the relationship between personal teaching efficacy and organisational citizenship behaviour as well as between general teaching efficacy and organisational citizenship behaviour. Mediation effect and determinants of organisational citizenship behaviour on teachers in Perak

Abstract

The purpose of this thesis study was to empirically examine the proposed conceptual framework which investigated the relationship among the proposed predictors: organisational justice, trust, teacher self-efficacy and collective efficacy, and organisational citizenship behaviour in school environment. The targeted respondents were teachers of secondary schools in Perak. Four hundred and eleven teachers were selected as samples by using multi-stage sampling technique. Structural Equation Modeling technique was conducted to test the conceptual framework by adopting Partial Least Square approach. The findings of this study revealed that all predictors were significantly related to organisational citizenship behaviour. Further to this, it was also found that trust played an important mediator to mediate the relationships between organisational justice and organisational citizenship behaviour as well as dimensionality of organisational justice and organisational citizenship behaviour. Factors influencing impulse buying behavior among working ladies in Selangor, Malaysia

Abstract

Within consumer behavior’s studies, impulsive buying behavior is always an interesting issue, where many researchers and marketers make efforts to understand it. However, due to various marketing techniques and innovations, it is much easier for consumers to buy impulsively. The research objective of this study is to investigate how extrinsic cues affect impulse buying behavior amongst working ladies. The five extrinsic cues involved in this research are price, store atmosphere, brand reputation, country of origin and social influence. The target population of this study is full-time working ladies aged between 16 to 35 years. Purposive sampling technique was used, with sampling size of 400. Impact of financial literacy level on financial behavior among higher education students: a case study in KDA University

Abstract

Nowadays, financial literacy is becoming a concern in a society particularly, among youngsters. The biggest issue is, the youngsters are lack of understanding on how to control their finances. This study aims to evaluate the financial literacy level among youngsters based on their knowledge, attitude and behavior. At the same time investigating whether financial literacy, gender and household income have a significant influence on the financial behavior of KDA undergraduate students. Primary data was collected through a questionnaire which consisted of few different sections that measure the financial knowledge, attitude and behavior among KDA students. A total sample size of 186 was collected for this study. Reliability test, regression analysis and Pearson’s correlation coefficient were the methods used to analyze the data. MOOC’s have advantaged many people through the provision of a variety of free online courses with zero learning commitment by prestigious universities around the world. It has attracted the enrolment of millions of people. Despite the millions of participations, drop-out rates are high and this has become the main issue regarding the effectiveness of MOOCs and its delivery system. This study therefore, is a quest to identify motivational factors that have contributed to the completion rates among MOOC course participants in Malaysian context. A descriptive-correlation research design was employed and simple random sampling technique was used to select 100 students from the Faculty of Education from a public university to participate in this study. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tahap kemahiran dan pengetahuan guru besar dalam pengurusan kewangan sekolah di samping ingin mendapatkan maklumat tentang tahap pematuhan prosedur-prosedur kewangan oleh guru besar. Selain itu, kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk mengenal pasti masalah-masalah yang dihadapi oleh guru besar dalam pengurusan kewangan di sekolah mereka. Subjek kajian terdiri daripada 70 orang guru besar yang mengikuti Program Pensiswazahan Guru Besar di Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris, Tanjong Malim. Instrumen utama yang digunakan dalam penyelidikan ini adalah pengubahsuaian daripada kajian Chan Yuen Fook (2004) dan kajian Jaimis binti Saiman (2004).
