Fabrication and characterization of graphene oxide-based electodes for water treatment systems application

Abstract

The aim of this study was to fabricate and characterize graphene oxide (GO) based electrodes for two types of home-developed water treatment system, namely electrodeposition (ED) and capacitive deionization (CDI) for copper ions (Cu2+) and methylene blue (MB) dye removal. Electrochemical exfoliation was utilized to synthesize GO using custom-made triple-tails (TC14) surfactant. Hydrazine hydrate was utilized as reduction agent to produce TC14-rGO. The TC14-GO and TC14-rGO were then coated via spray coating method on stainless steel (SS) which further utilized as electrodes in ED water treatment system. Meanwhile for CDI system, the TC14-GO sample was sprayed and immersed in activated carbon fiber cloth (ACFC) electrodes. Synthesis, mechanical characterization and photon radiation shielding properties of ZnO-Al2O3-Bi2O3-B2O3 glass system

Abstract

Novel zinc alumina bismuth borate glass system was fabricated according to the empirical formula x(ZnO)?5(Al2O3)?30(BiO3)?65-x(B2O3) with x = 0, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 mol% using conventional glass melt-quenching technique. The structural, elastic and shielding properties of the ZnO?Al2O3?BiO3?B2O3 glasses were examined by X-ray diffraction (XRD), density, molar volume, ultrasonic velocities, and EPICS2017 simulation. The glass structure's amorphous phase was confirmed by XRD measurement. From the density measurement, the addition of ZnO will increase the density from 4.275 to 5.018 g/cm3 and the molar volume decreased from 44.479 to 38.595 cm3/mol. In addition, the OPD is decreased from 67.45 to 62.19 mol/cm3. The elastic properties approximated from measured shear (VS) and longitudinal (VL) ultrasonic velocities indicated that the decrease of B2O3 in glass network cause the rigidity of glasses increased from 2300 to 2621 m/s and 4082?4540 m/s when the ZnO content increased. Cash flow and bank failure predictions: evidence from Nigerian deposit money banks

Abstract

This study examined the influence of cash flow on bank failure prediction in deposit money banks in Nigeria. The study exploited all listed deposit money banks in the Nigerian stock exchange market that have adequate financial reports for a period of ten years, from 2011 to 2020. Data collected were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation matrix, and random effect regression model. The study’s findings of the study divulged that net cash flows from investing and financing activities have a positive and considerable influence on bank failure predictions while operating activities such as cash flow have an adverse effect on the likelihood of bank distress prediction. It was also observed that investing and financing activities’ net cash flows are significant cash flow components that predict the likelihood of bank failure and the cash flow model is an effective predictor of bank failure in the Nigerian banking sector. Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan kit Genetik topik pembahagian sel Tingkatan 4 serta mengenal pasti persepsi pelajar terhadap kit yang dibangunkan daripada aspek reka bentuk, kandungan, kebergunaan dan kepuasan. Kit Genetik ini dibangunkan dengan menggunakan reka bentuk pembangunan berpandukan lima fasa dalam Model ADDIE. Instrumen kajian terdiri daripada borang kesahan muka, kandungan, konstruk soal selidik dan borang soal selidik. Kajian ini melibatkan 40 orang responden yang terdiri daripada pelajar Tingkatan 4 yang ditentukan menggunakan teknik persampelan bertujuan. Data bagi borang penilaian kesahan pakar dianalisis menggunakan nilai peratus persetujuan pakar manakala borang soal selidik kebolehgunaan dianalisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif iaitu min dan sisihan piawai. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan purata persetujuan pakar bagi kesahan muka dan kandungan daripada dua orang pakar adalah tinggi iaitu 100% dan 91.5%. Ini menunjukkan bahawa kajian dapat diteruskan.....

The prevalance of nutritional knowledge in individual sports among Uitm perlis athetles

Abstract

Athletes' food habits and nutritional understanding are closely related and have a significant impact on their performance. Athletes should always consider the importance of nutrition in their growth and development but yet, there still lacks study on nutrition knowledge toward individual sports. The purpose of this study was to determine the differences in prevalence of nutritional knowledge between genders among UiTM Perlis athletes who are playing individual sports. One-hundred and seventeen athletes has completed the Component of Nutritional Questionnaire. The questionnaire consists of 30 questions which test the nutrition knowledge of the athletes. The questionnaire was divided into two sections which consist of section A (covered demographics questions) and section B (the nutritional knowledge questions). Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan Modul SMART-KQ bagi murid di Tadika Islam Malaysia. SMART-KQ merupakan modul kosa kata bahasa Arab yang berasaskan warna dan gambar. Kajian ini menggunakan reka bentuk dan pembangunan (DDR) yang terdiri daripada tiga fasa. Fasa pertama melibatkan analisis keperluan dengan 214 responden dari Tadika Islam di lima zon Malaysia menggunakan persampelan kluster. Dapatan soal selidik dianalisis menggunakan SPSS versi 21.0 untuk melihat peratusan, min, dan sisihan piawai. Protokol temubual turut digunakan melibatkan lima pakar, dan analisis dibuat menggunakan ATLAS.ti22. Fasa kedua melibatkan reka bentuk dan pembangunan modul menggunakan kaedah Fuzzy Delphi dengan 12 orang pakar untuk mengesahkan konstruk dan item. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji hubungan antara burnout dengan kepuasan kerja dalam kalangan guru Tadika Islam,Perak. Selain itu, kajian ini juga bertujuan untuk melihat tiga aspek dalam burnout iaitu keletihan emosi, gangguan keperibadian kendiri dan pencapaian peribadi. T_his study aims to examine the effects of using the cognitive journeys through the web quest on motivation, engagement, and academic achievement among grade ten students in social studies in the Sultanate of Oman. To achieve the research goals, the researcher employed the quantitative approach (pre-test and post-test) with a sample of 120 students, specifically 60 male students from Abu Zaid Al Ryami Primary School, and 60 female students from Al Qalah Primary School, within the social studies course in the geography unit. The sample was divided into two groups: an experimental group of 60 students using the cognitive journeys strategy via the web, and a control group of 60 students studying through traditional methods.
