Kadir Husain Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur kesan kaunseling kelompok berteraskan kepada Modul Terapi Tingkah Laku Kognitif terhadap kompetensi sosial pelajar secara keseluruhan serta subkonstruk kompetensi sosial pelajar (bekerjasama, persahabatan, berkomunikasi, berempati, keterbukaan dan keyakinan diri). Kompetensi sosial pelajar diukur secara tinjauan terhadap 83 subjek dengan menggunakan soal selidik Kompetensi Sosial dan seterusnya digunakan sebagai data pra ujian dalam kajian eksperimen. Kesahan dan kebolehpercayaan modul kaunseling kelompok diukur berdasarkan penilaian pakar dan calon berpotensi sebagai pengguna. Kesan intervensi kaunseling kelompok ke atas kompetensi sosial dinilai daripada hasil kajian eksperimen yang dijalankan terhadap 60 subjek yang terdiri daripada 30 kelompok rawatan dan 30 kelompok kawalan dalam kalangan pelajar universiti jurusan Bimbingan dan Kaunseling. | 11482 | 2016 Thesis | Pengaruh modul permainan tradisional terhadap domain pembelajaran, status konsep kendiri serta minat terhadap aktiviti fizikal dalam kalangan pelajar sekolah rendah Adlan Mohamed Yusof Kajian ini bertujuan untuk menilai pengaruh modul permainan tradisional terhadap domain pembelajaran, status konsep kendiri serta minat terhadap aktiviti fizikal. Kajian ini melibatkan seratus tiga puluh dua orang pelajar daripada dua buah sekolah rendah yang berumur sebelas tahun. Instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah modul permainan tradisional, instrumen kaji selidik SDQ-1, CAPA dan instrumen penilaian modul permainan tradisional. Kajian menggunakan pra eksperimental - kajian kes sekali. Keputusan analisis regresi berganda menunjukkan terdapat pengaruh modul permainan tradisional yang signifikan ke atas aspek kognitif, psikomotor dan afektif. Modul permainan tradisional mempunyai perkaitan yang signifikan dengan semua prediktor yang dinilai bagi aspek kognitif, psikomotor dan afektif. Reading comprehension is the heart and soul of reading (Block, Gambrell & Pressley, 2003). Learning to read with good comprehension is a complex task. Comprehension is complicated and it requires strategies to construct meaning effectively. Because of its significance, this study is to investigate the strategies used by students to construct, to monitor and to evaluate what they are reading. Think-aloud protocol analysis is the method used in this study. The think-aloud protocol are the coded according to the procedure developed by Cote & Goldman (2004) which involved five concrete reading strategies: self-explanation, paraphrase, prediction, association and monitoring. The results indicate that better students used a wide range of strategies to construct meaning. Furthermore, it was also the interest of this study to determine the students’ perceptions on the process approach writing. Data collected for this study were collected through students’ written drafts. The students were assessed using the pre-test and the post-test experimental research method. Results from both tests were analyzed using the t-test formula for the dependent samples. Twenty Form Three students of Sekolah Menengah kebangsaan Trolak, 35600, Sungkai, Perak were chosen to be the research samples. The samples were chosen at random. The research methodology applied was experimental using the pre-test and post-test. Additional data was also gathered from questionnaire which provided further insight on factors that would affect the successful implementation of contextual learning in schools. The respondents consist of thirteen male and thirteen female Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris students aged between twenty and twenty three majoring in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL), Sport Science, Malay studies and Accounting. The quantitative and qualitative analyses were used in this study. The descriptive statistics is used to report the frequency and percentages and the content analysis suggested by Fraenkel & Wallen (2003) was employed. The findings of this study indicate that the female students tend to use swear words negatively while the male students used it both negatively and positively. Both male and female students feel that factors such as environmental influences, the media and the norm encouraged the use of swearwords. | 11490 | 2005 Thesis | The effectiveness of using multimedia applications on student performance in vocabulary learning Thillai Raman Subramaniam Advancement in computer technology has triggered the development of multimedia CALL programs which can present information in different formats using graphics, text, and video with links to other types of information. The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of two multimedia CALL programs on vocabulary acquisition. Samples of the study were 86 intermediate level English as a second language (ESL) students. They were randomly assigned to one of two treatment groups. Students in group one viewed a program with Motion Graphics and text. Students in group two viewed a program that had Still Graphics and text. Their task was to study ten names of hand and power tools. Both groups took the pretest, viewed the video on the tools, and had an immediate posttest and a two-week delayed posttest. Both Motion Graphics and Still Graphics were found to be effective in vocabulary learning in this study. Learning occurred significantly in both groups.
