Integrating technology-mediated learning in biology education (histology): a systematic literature review

Abstract

Leveraging technology is an integral component of any 21st century learning. Researchers and practitioners are still working on ways to improve the impact on student learning with the help of technology as learning tools. Therefore, this study was carried out to study the effects of integrating technology-mediated learning in biology education using systematic literature review (SLR). Finding from the analysis of selected literatures found that the integration of technology-mediated learning has a significant positive impact on students’ academic achievement and learning experience. Further research can be carried out by investigating the impact of technology-mediated collaborative learning on learning experience and academic achievement in histology. Information and Communication Technology Coordinators Competence in Public Elementary Schools

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the level of competence of Information Communication Technology Coordinators in Elementary Schools of Ramon District, Isabela during the School Year 2019-2020. This study used descriptive method of research, employing the questionnaire checklist in gathering data. This method was adopted since the study aimed to find the level of competence of ICT coordinators. Mean was used to determine the level of competence of the ICT Coordinators. Results of the study shows that the respondents have an overall high level of competence on competencies related to technical operations and concepts, and productivity of various ICT tools. Evaluation of column-wise manipulations on Ultra-Performance Liquid Chromatography (UPLC) data for forensic soil discrimination

Soil is one of the most encountered physical evidence and can be useful in tracing the location of the crime scene. The discrimination of soils is fundamental to provide a link between a suspect and a crime scene. However, discrimination study of soils could be difficult due to interferences in the chemical fingerprint of soils obtained via a chemical instrumental technique. Data analysis integration computer imported learning: a Microsoft Excel case with statistics

Abstract

The use of ICT in teaching and studying mathematics helps students to develop mathematics. The practice's application, therefore, depends on different considerations, amongst which: teachers' expectations of their ICT teaching skills, instructor attitudes towards teachers in mathematics, teacher attitudes towards ICT contributions to student mathematics awareness. The research was undertaken to assess ICT integration readiness in the classroom in the Paracelis district for mathematics teachers at secondary schools. The thesis used a questionnaire with comments on any of the above variables. This questionnaire was forwarded to 15 mathematics teachers at Paracelis District secondary schools. It shows that ICT teachers' intervention in mathematics has an average limit of 4.06. The need and effectiveness of form Two algebraic expression training module

Abstract

The aims of the study are to determine the need and effectiveness of Algebraic Expression Training Module (Mi-T2) in improving Form Two students’ higher order thinking skills. The level of thinking skill of Malaysian students is still low. A descriptive study and quasi-experimental study was conducted at a secondary school in Perak in order to determine the need and effectiveness of Mi-T2 module. Questionnaires about the need of Mi-T2 training module, pre-test and post-test were the instruments being used in the study. The school teacher provided responses by completing questionnaires to determine the need of module. A control group and experimental group were selected from the Form Two classes to be the sample study. They had to answer the instruments pre-test and post-test before and after the treatment. The development of an android application of terms register in Malay – English for KSSM Physics and its usability among student teachers

This research aims to develop an Android application of terms register in Malay – English for KSSM Physics for Physics student teachers’ use. A need analysis was performed to obtain feedback from ten student teachers about the existence of this application. This application is developed based on the ADDIE instructional model and undergoes a pilot test using a qualitative approach to obtain the initial feedback. After improvement, this application undergoes an application validity process through three experts using face and content validity forms. A quantitative approach was made using the Heuristic Evaluation Questionnaire (HEQ) survey on 30 student teachers to obtain the application usability. This research has produced an application on an Android platform containing 418 extracted terms from Standard Document for Curriculum and Assessment (DSKP) for Form 4 and Form 5 Physics with the application name is FiPhyNeo.
