This research aims to survey the responds and subscriptions of UPSI staffs to takaful family products which are offered by takaful companies based on several factors. Samples of 726 respondents are selected from academic and non academic staffs. The questionnaire forms are used in gathering information related to the research which are then analyzed by using SPSS 15.0 software, research outcome show that 83 percent of respondents subscribe to insurance offered by takaful or conventional insurance companies. On the other hand, only 17 percent of the respondents are not involved with any insurance products. From the figure, 48 percent of the respondents opt to products by takaful whereas the rest tends to choose conventional insurance products. The research finding proves that security from any risks is the factor for respondents' involvement in takaful or conventional insurance products while religious law is the main factor that contributes in the selection...

Future challenges for institutional leadership in a Malaysian educational university

This paper is prepared based on the purpose to examine how leaders in the Faculty of Business and Economics (FBE) in a Malaysian Education University face the challenges using their existing leadership skills to produce graduates according to the labor market demands. Are these leaders alert and able to respond to the new globalization change in developing and producing the graduates? Quality graduates should be able to move along with the market demands and possess high competencies skills in their core area. They should be credible enough to achieve any objectives set by them or by the organization. To produce quality graduates the faculty cannot run from training them to be good leaders. Leaders in the faculty have to seriously consider how the leadership skills can be developed in the faculty staffs who are involved in producing these graduates as well as the curriculum developments for the students training...
