The diversities of feminine art and the pop cultures in the Islamic world

Abstract

This article questions the symbolic representations of women and their spiritual and physical belongings in contemporary arts. In the Islamic world, there are many pop cultures that produced different symbolisms of feminine images, and used it in different socio political contexts to express symbolic messages. Such symbolisms may express spiritual connotations referring to religious backgrounds, while others may not because artists in the Islamic world represent many social issues from their communities. Such issues are diverse that range from political, social, spiritual as well as high individual issues that are very subjective in nature. Contemporary Middle Eastern social reality into global art in Singapore Biennale

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to investigate the artworks of contemporary Middle Eastern artists in Singapore Biennale regarding to the social reality issues. The subjects within the research context were the role of Middle Eastern artists in responding to the issues of social reality and the uniqueness of their artistic representations. The research also looked at the contribution of the artworks within the concept of glocalization that challenged the stereotypical representations of social issues. The methodology used in this research was qualitative content analysis, which categorized the phenomenon of social reality into a coding framework and interpreted their symbolisms according to the Iconography and Iconology theory. Chemical profile, physicochemical-sensory properties, trans-esterification and biological efficacy of agro-waste seed oils in Malaysia

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the potential use of biochemical seed oils of agro-waste as anti-trypanosomal, anti-oxidant, and anti-bacterial edible oil, sun-protection oil, and biodiesel. A comparative study was conducted to examine the chemical profile, physicochemical-sensory properties, and trans-esterification of seed oils collected from agro-waste in the Mualim district. Five drying techniques were tested before extracting the seed oils. Standard methods were then used to determine the chemical compounds, physicochemical-sensory properties, and bio-activity of the extracted seed oils. The analysis performed on such oils showed there were significant differences in the amount of seed oils between drying techniques, F (dfb, dfw) = 39.89, p = 0.00. Specifically, the analysis showed the microwave-drying technique produced the highest oil yield except for Carica papaya. L and Cucurbita sp, and the seed oils extracted from Mangifera indica had the best antioxidant property......

The relationship between environmental disclosure and financial performance of industrial companies with using a new theory: literature review

Abstract

This paper primarily examines the link between the environmental disclosure of industrial companies in Iraq and their financial performance. The inductive approach used in this paper entails surveying, studying, comparing and summarizing all papers published in prominent accounting journals in the past nineteen years. The paper found that environmental disclosure is weak in Iraq compared to developing countries in the analyzed studies. It also found that financial performance and environmental disclosure have a more positive relationship (61.29%) than negative (38.71%). The researchers used the accountability theory as a new theory in determining the link between both variables. Hence, this paper attempts to determine the link between environmental disclosure and financial performance among industrial companies in Iraq using the accountability theory. The main aim of this study is to determine the influence of environmental disclosure on financial performance of Iraqi industrial companies. This is because of the Iraqi Companies Law did not required for certain industries such as industrial companies to disclose their environmental information in annual reports. This study determines the effectiveness of digital learning materials on students’ academic achievement and motivation in the topic Geometry. The research design is quasi-experimental. A sample of 60 participants out of 200 target populations were carefully chosen using cluster probability sampling. A threeweek intervention was carried out. The instruments used are a set of pre-test and post-test on the topic Geometry. The motivation survey that was given to the treatment group only. A quantitative analysis of the magnitude of money laundering activities and its determinants in the United Arab Emirates

Abstract

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has one of the most developed financial sectors in the world. However, it is one of the top destinations for illicit funds and a safe haven for laundered money. This study aims to assess the magnitude and determinants of money laundering (ML) in the UAE from 1975 to 2020. The research is hinged on Masciandaro_s ML model. Using the autoregressive distributed lag (ARDL) modelbased currency demand function (CDA), the findings indicate that the average size of ML as a percentage of GDP was about 19.034 percent during this period, fluctuating between 15.129 percent and 23.121 percent. Besides, the results confirm that the key factors influencing ML in the UAE include the real estate market, money outflows, arms procurement, the size of the underground economy, gold trade, financial development, and national output. Synergistic effects of radiotherapy and Capsaicin on Colorectal Cancer (CaCo-2) and Normal Fibroblast (HDFn) cell lines in vitro

Abstract

Colorectal cancer is the second most frequent kind of cancer worldwide. The treatment may comprise surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy. More than half of cancer treatments are derived from natural sources, such as capsaicin. The biggest challenge is to get the disease under control as much as possible while causing as little harm to the healthy tissues around it. Cells were treated with an extract, Capsaicin of (chili peppers) and irradiated at 1 Gy, 3 Gy and 5 Gy. The MTT test was used to determine viability, and absorbance was measured at 570 nm using a Counter reader (Mutiskan EX, Thermo Lab systems). Capsaicin extract has shown a potential radiosensitizing effect in vitro for colorectal cancer. The inhibition effect in the cell lines was not selective and is significantly different from conventional radiotherapy. Abstract

The observer of the critical movement in the second century of Hijra notices that until the end of the second century AH, that criticism remained an innate criticism based on taste and emotion with literary influence. This critical effort combined grammar and rhetorical appreciation that was associated with looking at the Qur’anic text, and the evidence needed for that from the words and poems of the Arabs. In addition to that, criticism remained a marginal work for those critics, most of whom were linguists who were preoccupied with narrating poetry and purifying it from the parable, and strange explanations.
