Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan mengukur perbezaan dan hubungan di antara faktor-faktor demografi terpilih dan faktor-faktor penentu prestasi terpilih dengan persepsi keberkesanan sistem penilaian prestasi dalam kalangan anggota Polis Diraja Malaysia (PDRM) di Ibupejabat Polis Daerah Kuching. Kajian ini berbentuk kuantitatif yang mempunyai populasi seramai 800 anggota polis. Seramai 260 anggota polis dipilih secara rawak sebagai responden dalam kajian ini. Data kajian telah dianalisis menggunakan IBM SPSS Versi 23.0. Hasil kajian mendapati tidak terdapat perbezaan yang signifikan antara jantina dan tempoh perkhidmatan terhadap persepsi keberkesanan sistem penilaian prestasi. Manakala, keputusan ujian Korelasi Pearson telah menunjukkan bahawa terdapat hubungan yang signifikan di antara lima faktor penentu terpilih iaitu ganjaran (r=0.299), budaya organisasi (r=0.378), pengendalian (r=0.166), komunikasi (r=0.360) dan latihan (r=0.533) dengan persepsi keberkesanan sistem penilaian prestasi. Pembangunan dan penilaian keberkesanan modul Baca-Tulis prasekolah

Abstract

Kajian ini bertujuan membangunkan dan menilai modul Baca-Tulis terhadap kebolehan membaca dan menulis murid prasekolah. Kajian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif yang terdiri daripada dua fasa utama. Fasa pertama melibatkan reka bentuk pembangunan modul Baca-Tulis yang mendasari model ADDIE dan fasa kedua menggunakan reka bentuk kuasi eksperimen bagi menentukan kesan modul yang dibangunkan. Seramai 100 orang murid prasekolah dari dua buah sekolah di daerah Penampang, Sabah dipilih sebagai responden melalui persampelan rawak berkelompok. Responden terdiri daripada 50 orang murid prasekolah kumpulan rawatan dan 50 orang dalam kumpulan kawalan. Modul yang dibina disahkan oleh tiga orang pakar dengan indeks kesahan .87 yang melibatkan penilaian kriteria modul dan keseluruhan kandungan modul. Mitos agama Kristian dalam sajak moden A.S. Francis

Abstract

Kajian ini adalah untuk mengenal pasti serta menganalisis tujuan penggunaan mitos agama Kristian dalam sajak moden A.S. Francis dan membandingkannya dengan ayat-ayat suci Al-Injil. Kajian ini adalah sebuah kajian kepustakaan yang menggunakan kaedah analisis kandungan serta teori mitos yang dicetuskan oleh Roland Barthes dalam enam buah kumpulan sajak moden A.S. Francis. Pola perbincangan kajian ini tertumpu kepada mitos agama Kristian berunsur sejarah dan peristiwa. Dapatan kajian menunjukkan daripada 226 buah sajak moden yang dikaji sejumlah 57 (25.2%) sajak moden sahaja mencerminkan mitos agama Kristian. Daripada 57 sajak moden tersebut, 39 (68.4%) sajak moden menggambarkan mitos sejarah dan 18 (31.6%) sajak moden menggambarkan mitos peristiwa. Mitos agama Kristian tersebut digunakan untuk memenuhi 36 tujuan. Analysis of Savitzky Golay filter for electrocardiogram de noising using daubechies wavelets

Abstract

Electrocardiogram (ECG) examination is of great importance in medical diagnosis of the cardiac disease, but wrong interpretation due to noise interference in the signal could be dangerous as this may lead to wrong diagnoses of patient’s heart condition. De-noising helps to reduce the noise level for a better interpretation of the signals. In this study, an analysis of Savitzky-Golay (S-G) filter for ECG de-noising using Daubechies wavelets has been carried out using MATLAB version 2015a. Noisy ECG signals downloaded from physionet.org under MIT-BIH arrhythmia database was de-noised using S-G filter of polynomial order 9 to data frames of length 21 displayed in both time and frequency domains while a quantitative evaluation was carried out to check the performance of the filter under signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), mean square error (MSE) and signal-to-interference ratio (SIR). Development of Project-Based Learning E-Module by utilizing the Arduino for the topic of impulse and its usability

Abstract

This study aims to develop a Project-Based Learning E-Module by utilizing the Arduino for the topic of impulse and examine its validity and usability among trainee physics teachers. ADDIE model was followed in the development of the PjBL e-module where the problem was analysed, the e-module was designed, and then developed using Canva. Constructivism learning theory, Inquiry-Based learning, Experiential Learning Theory and Cognitive Load Theory was implemented into the e-module to make the e-module meet the learning style of 21st-century learning. After that, the e-module then goes to implementation phase before finally getting its usability evaluated. The PjBL e-module has been read and evaluated by 56 Semester 7 physics students selected via convenience sampling. The mean value of the usability obtained is 3.67, which proves that the e-module has achieved a high usability level among trainee physics teachers. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk membangunkan dan menguji tahap kebolehgunaan permainan Hidden Horcruxes sebagai pentaksiran bagi topik Arus, Rintangan dan Electromotive Force (E.M.F.) dalam kursus Keelektromagnetan. Reka bentuk pembangunan yang digunakan dalam kajian ini adalah model ADDIE dan pendekatan adalah secara kuantitatif. Seramai 70 orang pelajar ISMP Fizik semester 6 dan 7 telah dijadikan sebagai sampel kajian melalui teknik persampelan bertujuan. Borang kesahan pakar dan soal selidik kebolehgunaan merupakan instrumen yang digunakan dalam kajian ini. Data yang diperoleh telah dianalisis menggunakan perisian Excel bagi mendapatkan nilai min dan sisihan piawai (s.p). Peratusan kesahan daripada 3 orang pakar menunjukkan bahawa permainan Hidden Horcruxes mempunyai tahap kesahan yang baik iaitu 100%. A study of Lao Tsu's and Heidegger's philosophies of beauty in paintings through an aesthetic critique on Zhu Da and Francis Bacon

Abstract

The philosophy of beauty has been argued and debated for centuries, whether in China or Western countries, particularly examining human association with beauty that developed culturally. This research aims to deepen the understanding on _beauty_ according to Lao Tzu (571 B.C.-470 B.C.), as a representative of Chinese philosophy of Beauty, and Heidegger (1889-1976), as a representative of Western philosophy of Beauty. The purpose of this study is to reveal the similarities and differences between these two influential philosophies of beauty by conducting a comparative analysis on series of painting between Zhu Da (1626-1705), the Chinese ancient prominent painter, and Francis Bacon (1909-1992), the Western distinctive painter. Exploring information technology industry programming language trends with non-negative matrix factorization topic modelling

Abstract

The study aimed to determine the preferred programming language among information technology professionals using non-negative matrix factorization topic modelling technique. The results showed that the majority of participants were software developers and programmers who commonly used C#, Java, and Python, and agreed that Java, C, or C++ would be the best language to start with when learning programming. The application of topic modelling revealed key themes such as online video tutorials as effective learning resources, hands-on activities as key to learning programming, importance of feedback, effective teaching strategies, and problem-solving skills as crucial for success in programming. Applying alternative method to evaluate online problem-solving skill inventory (OPSI) using Rasch model analysis

Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the extended version of the Problem-Solving Inventory (PSI) via an online learning setting known as the Online Problem-Solving Inventory (OPSI) through the lens of Rasch Model analysis. To date, there is no extended version of the PSI for online settings even though many researchers have used it; thus, this study validated the OPSI taking into account evidence based on Rasch model analysis. Firstly, the OPSI employed content validation by three experts. The result of the percent agreement showed that the overall percent agreement of the OPSI is 95.05% which consists of six constructs: impulsive style, reflective style, problem-solving confidence, avoidance style, monitoring, and planfulness. Next, eight measurement properties of Rasch model analysis were employed with the OPSI among 49 undergraduate students in Malaysia.
