1 | 2014 thesis | A study of new word-formation of Tamil language in Malaysia Muniisvaran Kumar This thesis furnishes a clear idea on the current scenario of word-formation in Tamil, particularly in the Malaysian context. A total of 496 words have been collected as data for this study from the nationwide published Malaysian Tamil newspaper; 'Malaysia Nanban'. This study by and large answered technical questions: word-formation processes, genres and classes of words and identifying linguistic and grammatical weakness and conflicts. Field study has been conducted to answer social questions such as: attitudes of language users, their expectation and suggestions for better word-formation in Tamil. It was found that the language users were not very satisfied with the current progress of word-formation in Tamil. The result obtained from the questionnaire demonstrates that the language users are supportive of language development, particularly in word-formation. 2 | 2015 thesis | Kesan penggunaan jigsaw puzzle dalam menulis formula Kimia sebatian ion terhadap kefahaman pelajar sains tingkatan 4 Leela Devi Palany Kumar Kajian ini bertujuan menilai kesan penggunaan jigsaw puzzle sebagai alat visualisasi bagi membantu pelajar menulis formula kimia sebatian ion. Kajian dijalankan dengan menggunakan reka bentuk kuasi-eksperimen. Data kajian ini diperolehi melalui kaedah ujian dan soal selidik. Sejumlah 115 pelajar aliran sains tingkatan empat dari dua buah sekolah menengah di daerah Larut, Matang dan Selama telah dipilih secara rawak berkelompok. Kajian ini juga turut meninjau persepsi mereka terhadap penggunaan jigsaw puzzle dalam proses pengajaran-pembelajaran. Data-data dianalisis dengan menggunakan statistik deskriptif (skor min dan sisihan piawai) dan statistik inferensi (ujian-t). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan aktiviti jigsaw puzzle yang diperkenalkan berjaya memberi kefahaman kepada pelajar dalam menulis formula kimia sebatian ion. 3 | 2014 article | The analysis of cognition and affection style in Malay essay of secondary school students through hermeneutic pedagogy method Nachiappan Suppiah, Vijain Kumar Nisha Nair, Mohd Zulkafaly Fatimah, Sharom Siti Shakina, Akorede Quadri Mojeed, Andi Harikrishnan, In the teaching and learning of Malay language in schools, writing essays is an important component. In this study, six samples of good essays have been selected for analysis. Samples consist of students in Form 2 from a school Malaysia. Hermeneutics Pedagogical method is used to analyze student essays to identify styles of cognition and affection involved in essay writings. The results of hermeneutics pedagogy method give interpretations through style interpretation of cognition and affection experienced by students in the subconscious and conscious mind during essay writing. Results show that the students will be able to extract information and past experiences of long-term memory and short term memory assisted through the style of cognition and affection. Terdapat enam objektif, yang perlu dicapai dan 16 hipotesis yang perlu diuji. Model Penilaian CIPP bersama elemen APEC telah digunakan sebagai operasi proses 10 atribut Kebolehdapatan Kerja. Kajian ini menggunakan dua set soal-selidik Rubrik Dua Lapis. Sampel kajian terdiri daripapda 391 pelajar dan 91 majikan telah dipilih melalui sampel rawak sistematik. .
